![]() Author has written 10 stories for Death Note. IX Name: InfinitusX IX Real Name: NO. I learned my paranoia from my fandom. Gender: ?? Age: Somewhere between birth and death. Description: Eyes, ears, hair, mouth, face, body, fingers, toes, horns, tentacles - the usual. Physical Location: Planet Earth Mental Location: Varies, but is rarely Planet Earth. Likes: Lots of things. Like being deliberately vague. Dislikes: Socks, arrogant/stupid people, ice, feet. Thrives On: Constructive feedback/reviews. Waffles. Cake. Strawberries. Ice cream. Chocolate. Tea. Pens. Please Keep Your Writer In: A moderately warm, enclosed environment with plenty of windows and air circulation, internet access, stacks of notebooks and pens, and a steady supply of food and water. Exercise by taking on long walks and providing with some conundrum to think about. Fic Intentions: Mainly I do one-shots because I have a short attention span when it comes to writing fanfiction, but I might attempt to get some longer fanfics up here once I complete some. I do have a few 40 000+ word AUs hanging around, it's just that they're not... quite completely pieced together yet. So we'll see. I'm working on it. IX Notes on My Main Fandom: The main thing that people should know about me for this fandom is that for illogical reasons still unbeknownst to me, I am unhealthily obsessed with writing M&M. From the list of fics I've posted so far and from my list of favourites, that should have been incredibly obvious. The second thing that people should know is that I have a lot of trouble believing L/Light as a pairing. Not because I don't see the dynamic. I do. I just hate the way that most people characterize it. I've only seen one or two writers pull off the obsessive, mind-game-playing mental dynamic well enough that I actually understood why this is an OTP for some people. I see the pairing as one more concerned with mentally getting off on winning games against the other than with any physical interaction. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's more canonically correct and true to the characters, is it not? The third thing is more of a nice-to-know: when it comes to side-pairings, my tastes are ever so slightly fringe. I like Light/Mikami. The twisted religious aspects to it make me smile, and Light honestly seems to like Mikami, to the point where he even forgives him for going too far when it comes to spreading what he thinks is Kira's message. I like MNM OT3 - but finding a dynamic between them that I like and believe is very difficult for me as a writer, and very difficult to find elsewhere. And I like Halle/Naomi. Yes. I went there. It keeps popping up on me in my longer fic ideas. Like, all the time. I don't remember my initial reasoning for it, but I know I never really did like Raye for the way he treated Naomi. I couldn't understand why a smart woman like Naomi would give up on a career where she was treated as a valuable asset (even L had a certain respect for her). And of the other characters in DN, Halle seemed like the most capable, intelligent, and oddly logical match for her. And it is possible that they could have met... Naomi worked for the FBI from Sept 2001-Oct. 2003; Halle was also an agent through that period. Plus... well, it's hot. Sorry. Aesthetically, they make a really nice picture. I'll flirt with Mello/Halle/Matt as well, although usually just in a colleague/sort of friends way rather than romantic. No, I don't like much het fic for this fandom, mainly because most of the women are seen as mere tools for the men and that bothers me enormously, and of the women who aren't annoying and/or dumb as a hammer, I prefer them in a yuri pairing. IX Now on to what I would guess you're actually here for: the fics. And if you're looking for good fic and are tired of sifting through mounds of not-so-great fic... check out my list of favourite stories. It needs to be updated - I've been slack about favouriting lately - but the ones there go all the way back to the very first pages of the DN archive. |
