![]() Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter. I am an engineer with a passion for reading and writing. I enjoy reading poetry and prose alike given that there is a certain depth in the thought that is behind the work. Harry Potter is very different from the books I usually enjoy reading, however when I first starting reading this intriguing series I couldn't help but feel inspired. It is not as if I wouldn't like writing fan-fiction for other books and series, it's just that I feel more comfortable expressing my ideas and thoughts using the Harry Potter universe. I like experimenting with my style and although I can't at times detach myself from the canon facts I will not hesitate to explore how things can be done differently. It all depends on my muse. The ships I support (Harry Potter) Harry/Ginny all the way. I just cannot imagine one without the other. I do feel that JKR did not do as well with them as she could have but then again she was not writing a romance novel now was she! Remus/Tonks. Oh how I hated JKR for killing them. She did not even do justice to their demise mentioning it in a few sentences. James/Lily. Again I felt as if JKR didn't do justice to them and again I have to mention that she was not writing a roman novel. However, I do love the idea of them together even though I not very certain how they got together according to JKR. But then that's what fan-fiction is for, no? Ron/Hermione Book two onwards I knew they would end up together. They are just meant to be together! Snape/Lily. Okay so just because I am a James/Lily shipper that doesn't mean Snape/Lily requited or unrequited cannot appeal to me. However, unrequited love as far as they are concerned does sound more appropriate and believable than requited. James/Sirius. This is the only slash pairing I can actually stand. However, if it is one sided I enjoy reading it a lot. Harry/Hermione. As I said I can't stand Harry without Ginny but if dealt well I will like any ship. Nevertheless I always felt that Harry and Hermione had more of a brother and sister relationship and that Hermione's true place is with Ron. But that does not mean I cannot appreciate a good Harry/Hermione ship! Lily/Scorpious. This appeals to me much more than Rose/Scorpious and I love writing about them. Neville/Luna. So I was a teensy bit confused as to why JKR didn't pursue this ship after giving subtle hints. Maybe things did not work out between them or perhaps they were just good friends. Either way I actually wanted this to work out. Oh well, then again what is fan-fiction for? Draco/Asteria. So I always wondered who would be perfect for Draco Malfoy and as none of the characters already mentioned in the book suited him I knew there had to be someone else out there. Thank you to JKR for creating Asteria Greengrass. Draco/Luna. So they are a little odd put together put I just can't help but feel that a story involving them if well written could turn out to be rather interesting. Slughorn/Lily. Ok so this is the oddest most strangest thing I have ever thought of but I just can't help but feel a weird feeling when I read HBP. I don't know why but oh well. Of course it should be absolutely and completely unrequited on Lily's part and should be very, very, very well written. Ok so that is pretty much it! All the other ships I either don't read or if I do I don't really care as much about them. Except perhaps Neville/Hannah ‘cause I just want Neville to be all settled and happy in life! Dumbledore/ Grindlewald I do not like this ship but I support it because this was the one thing that made Albus Dumbledore appear human: falling in love with a man who was obviously planning on becoming a dark wizard!! Ships I can never support!! Any ship implying incest! I just can't stand it, sorry. It's just wrong to put them together, honestly. Eww! My favourite Harry Potter characters Severus Snape. So he is my favourite character. Why? Because he is the most original one of the lot. I loved to hate him in the previous six books. Everything from his horrid attitude towards Harry, his mean appearance, his unfairness towards the other three houses and especially his ability to hate everyone and everything! But what made him absolutely my no. 1 favourite character was the way he was portrayed in the last book. He was the epitome of the theme of redemption and I just couldn't help but simultaneously feel sorry for him and admire his courage. Life was very unfair to him and he still choose to carry on righting his wrongs to some extent, fighting for the good side even when everyone readily assumed him to be Voldemort's right hand man. Harry Potter. So you just can't help but love this character. What I love most about Harry is that he has this resemblance to Sam from Lord of the Rings. He is scared as hell of what might happen and doesn't have the most extraordinary abilities but he does have the courage to go on no matter what. Sam was a simpleton who had told Frodo that he wanted to go home and was scared to carry on but would not leave his side and help him till the end. Harry too is like that, he is scared and disappointed and betrayed over and over again in Deathly Hallows but he does not give up. He doesn't know how he is going to face the whole situation, has no idea where any of the hurcruxes are, doesn't have a major plan to carry on forward but he does have one thing: the determination to finish the task which was started. Secondly of course his ability to care for those who would never care for him is too remarkable it cannot be ignore. The only example which is sufficient to prove my point is that he gave Voldemort a chance to redeem in the end, a chance to save his after life even if it were to destroy his present one. Such compassion is rare and very, very admirable. Hermione Granger. She represents feminism in the novels and I can't help but affiliate myself with such people. Therefore I admire her. But even more so I admire her courage and steadfastness. She did not abandon Harry like Ron did although after his departure they had even rougher times than before. Rita Skeeter. Okay I can see a few jaws dropping. She is a character whose cunning and determination to report the greatest rubbish can't be ignored. I hate her and yet I can't help but enjoy hating her. I wanted to read more about her but of course she wasn't as important for JKR to spend more space on her. Nevertheless Rita Skeeter is a favourite character of mine to read and I hope more people would write about her! Ginevra Weasley. Okay so I read somewhere that "Ginny Weasley is such a Mary Sue". I couldn't stand that at all. Why do I like Ginny? Well, it's because she is the only sunshine apart from the twins in the series. She can joke and stay happy living her life when all the turmoil around her is prevailing. Why should anyone stop enjoying life like most people had when you never know when you might die? That one sense made me love this character. Her optimism is more than admirable and her innocence in the first two books also stands out. However, I beg to differ with all those who think of her as a character who cannot or has not done any wrong. She is indeed quite realistic and portrays a young woman who is both brave and ambitious but a bit too innocent I think at times. Her naivity make her all the more believable as that was the very first thing we noticed about her in the whole issue of the Chamber of Secrets! Ronald Weasley. I like him because he too reminds me of Sam from Lord of the Rings and I suppose you have guessed that Sam is my favourite character from those books. Just like Sam had a little fall Ron did too both caught in by the temptations aroused by a piece of jewellery. Interesting no? Anyhow, Ron came back with grace. You have to admire his courage in coming back. It is to do wrong and then forget about it sitting at home like a coward. However, to come back and right that wrong takes courage and Ron definitely had it. Plus his easy going nature is just too much! I love it! Fred Weasley. Oh my God, why did he have to die? Out of the twins he was more prominent and it just ripped my heart out to read about him die. Sigh oh well. Sirius Black. Do I really have to give a reason! It is not as if I don't like other characters but they don't come under my favourites category! So there it is I hope you enjoy reading my stories!
