So... recently I have been asked the question Why do you write?

That's not something that's easy to define with words... I write for my own amusement, because it makes me happy. I love the feeling of being able to create a new world with the stroke of a pen, of being able to create characters and people. I love the possibilities, the fact that when I write I have the ability to go anywhere and do anything. In the end, it really makes little difference to me whether someone likes my work or not.

This usually leads to the question, If you truly don't care if people like your stories, why, then, do you post them?

Simple. The purpose of a story is to be read, and if it isn't then, well, I believe that it is wasted. Stories shouldn't be locked away where they cannot be seen. They should be read. Enjoyed, loved, or even hated. They should be given the chance to spread the emotions that they contain, to make people laugh or cry, or even hide under the bedcovers... and how can that happen if they aren't put somewhere where they can be seen?

Inevitably, this leads us to the final question that I am often asked... ARE YOU INSANE?!

In order to answer that, I will have to let you in on a little secret. Am I insane? Most likely. But, you know what? I like it better this way.
