I like watching characters suffer and break. My stuff tends to end up bleak and depressing even if I don't really intend it to; Morphic began its life on FFN classed as "Humor/Sci-Fi" and ended up featuring multiple character deaths and an entire last chapter consisting of people feeling bad.

I appreciate constructive reviews.

My profile used to be incredibly verbose and it was a bit ridiculous. Here's a tl;dr version:

Most of the stories on here are pretty old and I do not necessarily endorse anything in them anymore; Life of a Character, I'm looking at you. You're welcome to read or review them anyway, but detailed critique would probably be a waste of your time, since I'm already aware of the multitudes of problems with them. Curse and Butterfree are one-shots recent enough that I still generally like them, so critique away on those.

The Quest for the Legends is a ridiculous trainer fic that I first started when I was twelve years old and completed sixteen years later. The version here was started in 2004, when I was fourteen. I find the first thirty-something chapters of it deeply embarrassing, and even the rest has to deal with nonsensical artifacts from that time, but I love what it ended up as anyway. "It gets better" is not an excuse, and definitely not in this case; I don't expect anyone to put up with the early ridiculousness just to get to the parts that don't make me facepalm. But if you do, then welcome aboard. Again, no need for detailed critique on anything in the first half unless you desperately want to; I could write essays on everything that's wrong with it.

Scyther's Story and The Fall of a Leader are spin-offs of The Quest for the Legends written for NaNoWriMo 2006 and 2007 respectively, featuring the QftL-verse's vision of Scyther society, which has something of a systematic obsession with death. These are very dark, full of murder, suicide, self-harm and some still more triggery material in the case of the latter. Reader discretion is advised.

Morphic is a Pokémorph fic, completed in 2010 although I'm still intermittently adding some extras to it. I'm not actually a huge fan of the Pokémorph concept, and have barely read any Pokémorph fics; this was an idea I had after reading an article about gene splicing in animals that speculated on when the first eccentric millionaire might pay scientists to engineer him a daughter with eagle wings, which led me on a train of thought that went something like, "Wow, I wonder what kind of chaotic controversy would arise if Pokémon world scientists actually made Pokémon/human hybrids, and just how messed up their lives would be when they grew up." It has deconstructionish elements and takes place in its own closer-to-real-life AU. It ended up taking itself way more seriously than I originally meant for it to, and in general I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with it when I wrote the first half, so the story structure, tone, etc. is pretty wonky at the beginning, but overall I'm reasonably proud of it. I'm planning to rewrite it to hell and back when I get around to it, though.
