Author has written 10 stories for Evangelion. There's really not too much to say. I'm a current student at a state university majoring in mathematics and minoring in something completely unrelated (the former is for work, the latter is for pleasure), I'm engaged to a wonderful woman, and I write on my spare time to either blow off steam or get my head out of work. Speaking of work, I'm employed by the university I'm earning my M.S. from as a mathematics professor. I'm currently teaching two courses - Differential Equations (which is after calculus III), and Matrix Theory (which is after differential equations). However, I pretty much teach whatever the university tells me to. Last semester I was teaching algebra I and calculus I... talk about a step backwards. I've managed to keep my occasional watching of anime a secret, though I'm far from a fanatic. I've only watched a very small number of shows all the way through (NGE of course, but also Cowboy Beebop, FMA original and brotherhood, and FLCL). I won't say my age, but let's just say I remember back when Cartoon Network had, oh I don't know, cartoons like Angry Beavers, Two Stupid Dogs, Invader Zim, Rocco's Modern Life, and the such. You know, back when violence wasn't only accepted, it was welcomed. Let's see, what else... I used to be a huge gamer (mainly on PC and the PlayStations), but there's really just no time now. I'm not a sports fan in the least, and the only reason I know anything at all about football is because I used to be in marching band. Yeah, turns out that playing a fight song when the other team scores is frowned upon. I consider myself somewhat of a metal head (specifically power metal, black metal, and symphonic metal), but I'll listen to literally anything. I tend to go in my self-proclaimed "genre cycles", in which I'll listen to nothing but one genre at a time. Last week I was in a rap mood, and lately I've been in a thrash metal mood. I've been known to go through country, hip-hip, rap, all genres of metal, and even pop on occasion. Believe it or not, the song to be played at my wedding is Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold (by the string quartet, of course). Here's my personal opinion on each one of my stories... Nothing Will Ever Change That: From a writing perspective? Complete garbage, but for some reason, people liked it. The only reason I haven't deleted it is because it helped me become a good writer. I suppose it's a fairly decent read if you have some serious time to kill... not really recommended over my other stories, though. The Effects of Puberty: Unfinished, and it's going to stay that way. Not like there was really any plot, anyway. It's a funny read, but not the best humor out there. Not too bad if you have time to kill - I read it over myself just last weekend and I managed a few laughs. Never Calm: Also unfinished, but not too bad. This was my first good story after Nothing Will Ever Change That, but I ran into somewhat of a plot dead-end, so I just dropped it. Winding Road: The last unfinished one, but unlike the others, I actually plan on finishing it eventually. This was my first hardcore angst story, and I have to say, I think I hit the nail on the head. I've gotten a lot better with the genre, mind you, but it's still damn good if I do say so myself. Crimson Instinct: In my opinion, an awesome story that goes into the mind of Asuka after the events of the first two new movies. The ending is extremely philosophical, so if you're not into that stuff, don't bother reading. Rei's Fascination: My favorite story to date. It revolved around Asuka as she enjoys the finer pleasures in life, and eventually the taboos of said life. The ending is absolutely amazing, and as you're reading, I give you hints as to what the ending will be. However, when you reach the ending, it's nothing like what you expected. Game On!: Another humor fic... good if you like crossovers with games, I suppose. Worth a few cheap laughs, but nothing amazing. Asuka, the Existing: My attempt to educate the lot of you. Doesn't have much to do with the NGE universe outside of the characters, but immensely fascinating if you enjoy philosophy. Red Eye: An upcoming fic centered around Rei and her... let's say 'issues with relationships'. If you've read this far, bravo. If not... well then, I suppose we don't have much to talk about, do we? |
