Madman chapter 3 . 7/9/2015
A perfect way to use kensuke. Mindful wise he is her equal. Like her, he never fears to say what on his mind.
Seeking Professional Help chapter 14 . 9/13/2014
An excellent idea for a story, and the characters were all superbly written.
You deserve a Ultra-mega Thumbs Up from me.

It hasn't been updated in a while though, it'd be a shame for the story to be forgotten.
Mr. Light Chicken Bulbs chapter 14 . 11/29/2011
It's probably terrible of me to find such interest in reading how Asuka's life is slipping apart through her fingers as she tries in vain to hold it together, but if we can't have our sadistic moments then what can we have?

I know people have said this already, but love the characterization. I want to punch and hug the poor girl at the same time now. As for the writing, at first it stood out to me that you were underusing commas for the earlier chapters, but either that went and solved itself or I got too caught up in the narrative to notice.

It's a shame that this story looks to have died off, what with over five months of blankness; I'm curious about what her test records would have been, but I suppose this happens sometimes. Hopefully interest comes back someday!
Acronymous chapter 14 . 10/2/2011
I enjoyed your portrayal of asuka in this interesting lil' story, I feel it was quite close to Asuka from the show. She's brash, arrogant and a wonderfully flawed character. You captured her quite well.

I also enjoyed some of the side characters; kensuke and hikari provide an interesting backdrop to asuka's growing "problems", the vacuum of misato in her life is quite a realistic setting of the situation at hand, and make this more believable and more insertable into canon. I even enjoyed how penpen, a simple creature with simple needs, can anger asuka, since at this point she is quite a distance down her road to breakdown.

I did not really like hikari's sisters though. I may be just be ignorant but I cannot recall them from the show, and they are a rather unlikable pair anyway. With their addition it makes the slotting into canon a bit less plausible. But like I said, I could just be ignorant of obtuse clues hidden in a single line of dialouge or game.

All in all, I have enjoyed this so far, and I await future installments. This does not mean you should rush, quality is a trait often overlooked in the 10% worth dying for, would you not agree Sasha?

Darth Lame chapter 14 . 6/27/2011
Well, I see no problem with the voices in this chapter. It was as good as you use to write, which is saying a lot. Of it all, the one thing I liked most was the final phrase, of Hikari leaving Asuka alone. Poor Asuka, she can't catch a break. Of course, this being Eva, no one does. And that's bad, because this series could have had so many good endings...

Keep going my friend!
Darth Lame chapter 13 . 6/16/2011
Asuka can be smart, but she still seems incapable of realizing that the issue isn't NERV punishing her for her shortcomings, but the fact that she and everyone else is truly nothing else but a puppet.

As usual, excellent. Very good on pointing out the seemingly stupid decision of not repairing the other EVAs sooner. For everyone save the Commanders and Ritsuko, that must have been a very illogical choice.
deathbringer374 chapter 13 . 6/14/2011
Really, really enjoying the story so far. Keep up the great work, my friend! I'll definetely be waiting for the next update!
Aincalandorn chapter 12 . 6/3/2011
Now that you mentioned it, I don't understand why it took so long for them to repair the two Evas while they were working on getting Shinji out of Unit 1. They could have had the technicians working on the repairs. I mean, it's not like they had anything better to do while Ritsuko and her scientists worked on a plan to return him. Eh. Stupid plothole is stupid.

As for the traveling to and from the Geofront, I think there are the traincars (as you call them), and still roads/lifts/stairs/etc that are connected to buildings just in case something happens (IE: Power outtage).

Anyways, good chapter, even if it did seem a bit slow, but sometimes that's needed. Looking forward to the next chapter. :)
Weapon-VII chapter 12 . 6/3/2011
Good chapter. Hell good story!

I always wondered what happened to Asuka during that month. This story shows it splendidly. The despair and negligence that she shows to herself is very depressing, but perfect in this situation.

Is there going to be some alternate events that happen afterward? Or is this just a look at the month Shinji was in his Eva.

Keep up the good work!
UnrealEngineer chapter 11 . 5/25/2011
Loved this update. Oh Asuka, numbers seem to be a defining thing to her. She always has to be the best, always have the highest scores at everything. It would be interesting to meet someone like that, I think, although that people is to be pitied rather than admired.

Well, keep this up, friend. You've been doing an amazing job so far.
birdcartographer chapter 11 . 5/15/2011
Hooray, an update!

You already know how much I like this fic, but I'll reiterate for anyone who's just reading the reviews. It's a great story set in a chunk of the timeline that much isn't usually done with, and the characterizations of Asuka and the people around her (as seen through the lonely, cynical perspective she has at this point) are all expertly formed.

New chapter maintains all of that nicely, in my opinion. If you really want to rewrite it that's up to you, and I'd be interested to see what you'd like to have done differently, but it's already quite good.
DanteVirgil09 chapter 11 . 5/14/2011
I genuinely feel Asuka's increasing sense of hopelessness as the days troll on. Keep this up to the end of the line.
Iraesmarter chapter 10 . 5/3/2011
Reading this fic gives me that same feeling I got from the series, as if I were watching a tragedy unfurling slowly but constantly, and yet there were still some small details that made up for the whole thing. Sad and beautiful, it is, and a pleasure to read. I pity Asuka and all the hardship she has to go through, even if she brought quite a lot of that hardship upon herself with her actions. I can only hope things will improve for her in the end! Even though if you're sticking to canon, that will only come after the massive mindf-ck of End of Evangelion.

Keep it up!
Devil Boss chapter 10 . 4/28/2011
I concur with Burke, I'd just hug Asuka if I had the chance. Poor girl is a good person deep down, and yet she finds herself very alone even though she does try to reach out to others in her own way. I think you did a great job of showing how much Shinji's absense affects her, now that she simply doesn't have anyone paying attention to her anymore. That is almost complete destruction to Asuka.

Take your time to continue this if you can't write as of now. A good work must not be rushed. I'm a fan of this fic and I'll read and review the other two thirds of it just as I did the first. Keep it up.

Devil Boss
Caractaquus Burke chapter 10 . 4/26/2011
Jeez, poor Asuka. I just want to give her a hug after reading this, hahaha. She really doesn't have anyone to turn to anymore. Misato runs from contact, and Kaji must already know he is or will soon be dead, so Asuka is lost without them and Shinji. Really, it puts things into perspective, learning about what happened while Shinji was in Unit 01.

Love this fic, my man. Keep it going. Can't wait to have Shinji back in the picture, even if it's only for a few scenes.
