Repost this if you are one of the 8 percent who would be laughing your ass off. Welcome to my profile. I, alleycat1312, am a lady living in the USA. I am a Christian, and I am currently using fanfiction as a crutch (but I have several ideas for real, genuine stories in my head). Current Writing Status (11-17-08) I published a one-shot about how I think Samus might die. Check it out. I now have an account at the young writer's society (youngwriterssociety(dot)com) as "alleycat13". There I have posted several poems and original pieces. I am slowly removing the crutch ;-). Anyway--I don't claim to be a professional analyst, but I feel more then able to give a good review. Accordingly, I try to read and give advice to as many writers here at fanfiction as possible. It's nice to know you can help people become better.! I used to have a list of my stories here, but I don't think many people actually read that list. So, if you want to know what I write about-- go read my stories! And now, a list of authors/stories I feel that anyone who can read english should read-- Anything and everything by C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, Watership Down by Richard Adams, Harry Potter 1-infinity by J.K. Rowling (notice the trend of British authors here), Dubliners by James Joyce, The Dog that Wouldn't Be by Farley Mowat, The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, White Fang and The Call of the Wild by Jack London, The Redwall Series by Brian Jacques, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle, all poetry by Emily Dickinson--Edgar Allen Poe--and--W.B. Yeats. For younger readers, I suggest the Silverwing Series by Kenneth Opel, and The Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer. For those ready for a long, very strange but rewarding and introspective piece, read Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe. It's been printed in numerous languages, and everyone should read this book so that my generation will never allow something like the Holocaust to ever happen again--Night by Ellie Wiesel.
