![]() Author has written 22 stories for Get Backers, Memoirs of a Geisha, Gakuen Alice, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Les Misérables. She paints her face to hide her face. Her eyes are deep water. It is not for geisha to want. It is not for geisha to feel. Geisha is an artist of the floating world. She dances. She sings. She entertains you…Whatever you want. The rest is shadows, the rest is secret... Welcome To My Confessions I'll be presumptuous enough to say that I think this profile is pretty well viewed...seeing as I advertise it so much. I haven't changed the format of my profile since I started it, but seeing as I'm grown up and in desperate need of Writer's Calisthenics, I'll try the paragraph style. I'll have to give credit to the semi-inactive Damien T. Wolf whose profile made me jealous enough to copy his style and try paragraphing my confessions instead of doing bullet-form. That's how I originally got the "bullet-form" style, by seeing others with it. But I digress... Stormeye as The Stray Cat Although I'm currently wondering what species of cat I am, the rest of my personality is not in question. I'm a self-proclaimed mix of all things Bad-ass in the un-real world, a.k.a. Draco Malfoy, Paul Slater, The Collector, Mido Ban, Riza Hawkeye (I wish)…oh you get it. Seeing as I'm a prolif, I tend to spout multilingual profanities, as well as tend to converse in really big words. I'm also a pseudo-expert in the art of the double entendre, and can be quite the coy flirt when I want to be. And when I don't want to be either, apparently. I'm what you could call "refined brutality"...I'm extremely unladylike to the point of being barbaric, but I always seem to execute my violent behavior with a bit of class, so to speak. I don't pride myself on this...so nowadays I tend to lean towards verbal violence, though I still kick some serious ass. I am, admittedly, a person with a lot of issues. But then again, what great writer didn't have issues? I'm not a great writer yet, but I'm sure with time I will become one. Practice is, after all, all it takes. My hobbies include, aside from the prerequisite writing of anything and everything, photography and photomanipulation, poetry and songwriting, music (I play the violin and sing), amateur psychology and philosophy, performance arts (singing, ballroom dance, acting), and attempting Martial Arts. Also, I tend to give my opinions, however unwanted, and to talk a lot about myself, as you've already noticed. Stormeye as The Opinionated One I have a very strong personality and tend to state my opinions on topics ranging from stem-cell research to what sort of flip-flops you should buy at the mall. My likes include playing with words, making glib and smart-alec statements, Conversation (too much), and trying to be myself. My dislikes, which I feel very strongly about, are chauvinists (including Female Chauvinist Pigs), too-meek too-submissive females (like my grandmother wants me to be), bimbos and the men who like them, jocks, people who think they're God's gift to humankind, the morally bankrupt (excepting Roy Mustang...snicker), the stalkeresque, the socially/sexually deviant, religious bigotry (especially towards Muslims), overly-tenacious men who can't get the "leave me alone" message, and racism. I am a Christian, which should surprise you as I'm sure you assumed I was Muslim due to my statement on disliking religious bigotry against Muslims. It's true, I find that the constant stereotyping of Muslims is a disgusting practice, narrowminded and shameless. This is because once, on Yahoo! Answers, a very impolite male posted a question bashing Christianity, and a Muslim came to my defense. They are tolerant of us, we should accept them. My mother didn't raise a bigot. As to racism...I've not experienced much of it. But when I say I live in what can be considered a Third-World country, it does not mean I do not know how to use the toilet. I can assure you, I am perfectly capable of holding my own against "First-World" citizens. I even surpass them once in awhile. So please don't racially stereotype me Stormeye as The Wordsmith I'm a frequent if erratic blogger with a tendency to not finish what I start. Novelling has never been one of my strong points, I lack the patience to press on...but I persist on joining the NaNoWriMo whenever I can. I'm sure, I'll get the hang of novelling one day, seeing as I'm racking up a pretty good track record with my fan-novella of sorts, Calculated Risk-Taker. I'm a big reader, of any genre. Currently I enjoy modernist prose such as Haruki Murakami, and Asian-themed historical nouvelles. I also love a taste of old-world glam, so I have a soft spot for "Breakfast at Tiffany's"...the story, not the movie. I find it still makes me teary-eyed. I am what you could call a "cynical romantic", to a point idolizing the sharp wit of Truman Capote when rendering his Holly Golightly. I appear not to care that much about love, but as a writer I favor romantic fiction, although the genres of humor and introspective also come easily to me. I try to expand my range as a writer, but to no avail. Admittedly, there's a bit of a hopeless romantic in me. Writing Style Ah, the all important topic of writing style, sub-headered under "Wordsmith". My writing style ranges from playing on Lemony Snicket's purposefully verbose, to Yukio Mishima's existentialist prose, bordering on nihilist tendencies. However, being a Christian, I do try to curb my pessimistic tendencies. Currently my writing style is character-driven, and I do enjoy being vague about plotlines as the story begins. However, I try to start stories with a fully-formed plot, and simply reveal it little by little. My writing style is erratic, but I do favor the vignettes compiled into a novel style. I'm a bit influence by Harper Lee...though my work is nothing compared to her To Kill a Mockingbird. Stormeye's Works in Progress Fanfiction: - Calculated Risk-Taker This is a Royai (that's Roy Mustang/Riza Hawkeye for those who don't understand) vignette-novella that's a bit more character-driven than plot-driven. It follows a timeline, but not an actual story. I've gotten pretty good reviews on this one, so I try to keep up its style, a bit emotional and free-flowing, though I must admit it's borderline emo. Snow White and The Eight Dwarves Sick and twisted parody of Snow White. Royai, yet again. This one is more conventional in its style, and I've stuck in my OC, Rory. sigh Original Fiction: - Memoirs of My Past Life (NaNoWriMo 2007) Novel that spins-off the concept of reincarnation, but not literally (I don't believe in reincarnation.). Character-driven and containing the themes of paranoia and courage, life and death, friendship and false hopes. Contacting Stormeye I'll tell you now that it will do you no good to check your local mental hospital listings. I'm not in an institution, though some believe I should be. If you'd like to contact me outside of Fanfiction.net, there are my blogs. Confessions of A Beautiful Mind is my main blog, detailing in a semi-shallow, rant-ridden manner, the details of my not-so-charmed life. Paradox Park is my literary blog, which contains all my infrequently-posted podcasts as well as anything that involves my literary musings. If you'd like to get some advice, perhaps collaborate on a story, or offer some advice, you can always contact me. Just don't expect a long-term arrangement, I'm a bit of a recluse and don't enjoy people I don't particularly know intruding on my privacy. Especially if they are way older, and male. I am a very suspicious person. I suppose I should end on that note. By the way, you can contact me in Gmail now. It's roguesurvivor@. I hope you drop me a line. I won't bite...much. |
