The slow, melancholic music flooded the room, each note hanging clearly in the air before being drowned out by the next. Fuuchouin Kazuki sat, entranced by the melody. It was his special serenade, he knew. He watched his lover's long fingers move along the strings in fluid motions, almost hypnotically. Slowly, it faded away, and Ban pulled the violin away from him, opening his thoughtful eyes. Kazuki blushed slightly as he received the full attention of his sapphire gaze.

"That was amazing…"

Ban smiled in acknowledgement. "I have my grandmother to thank for that."

Kazuki stood up from where he was sitting on the floor, with his head on Ban's lap. He leaned into the Jagan Master, kissing him softly on the lips. "Can you play something lighter? I had no idea music could make me this sad."

"Of course, Itomaki."

Ban positioned the violin, and started with a slow tune. Kazuki resumed his former position. Ban's fingers picked up speed, the bow stroking the strings faster as the music grew livelier, faster. This time, the notes didn't cut right through to his heart. Instead, they seemed to take a life of their own, dancing all around him.

Just about then, sitting still didn't seem to suit Ito no Kazuki. He got to his feet, which seemed to move on their own accord, whirling him round and round. His long hair streamed around him, undone. The tune fuelled him, giving him energy like he had only known his strings to give.

Almost abruptly, the music stopped. Kazuki faltered slightly, steadied by a pair of strong arms. Ban pulled him close, kissing his forehead. "Easy there, Kazuki."

Kazuki looked up into his enigmatic eyes that hid an inexplicable power. His flush deepened as he saw the affection behind the thinly veiled amusement. He laughed, catching Ban's hands in his own. He planted light kisses one after another, drawing the normally 'cool' Ban into a dance. Dancing to the music that played just for them, that moment.

You see, music doesn't just soothe the savage beast. It also brings life to the untamed beauty.

Yes, I know, sappy and fluffy. I was just really in the mood for something like this. You can expect a few more of these, really. The way I see these, they're not pointless. Just peeks into moments in a relationship. Now back to work!
