Hi-ya, I’m The Ruby Rabbit!

I’m an artist, antiques/vintage dealer, seamstress and writer of fan fiction. That last bit is kinda obvious.

So, my interests really do run the gambit, but I’m a huge anime fan, cartoon nut, comic geek, etc. etc. Which you can probably guess from what I write and the stories I read. My stories can get dark. I don’t do trigger warnings, because I fully believe that if you need them, you have bigger issues than possibly reading some trauma happening to a fictional character.

I tend to tweak cannon a bit to fit the story, move it to an updated setting, AU, or take a beloved character down the primrose path, only to drop them in a viper pit. Not all of my work is dark; really, I just like a good story and a little character development over super happy fun time fluffy wuffy bunnies and rainbows.

I also only give constructive criticism. I fully believe that as a skill, writing and storytelling need to be honed and sharpened. That can only happen when others point out our mistakes and help us correct them with suggestions and guidance. I will never leave a review that says you and your story suck. That’s just mean and really unnecessary. I will however leave reviews with constructive criticism with praise and encouragement. I understand that we artists are a sensitive lot, but we need to learn to take the sharp barbs as well the gentle nudges in the right directions in order to be better artists. And we can do this without being assholes.

I seriously hate the use of the word ‘orbs’ instead of ‘eyes”. I physically cringe every time I see it.

As of now, I’m putting a lot of my stories on hiatus. I’m currently re-writing and editing my previous works and when I’m done, I will be posting a lot more often, possibly a chapter a week.
