Author has written 3 stories for Naruto, and Legend of Zelda. Name: kitsunescythe Kit is also acceptable. Sex/Gender: Female Age: 29 Religion: Christianity Location: a landlocked state in the United States Deviant Art profile: http:/// Introduction in the style of Naruto, including likes, dislikes, hobbies, and goals for the future Likes: Video games - Mass Effect, The Legend of Zelda, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 (it's the only one I've played so far), Skyrim, Oblivion, and Minecraft. There are others, but I don't feel like listing them all. Manga - Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, The Legend of Zelda adaptations, Sailor Moon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! (up through Millennium World, after that, no). Anime - Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Sailor Moon, Avatar: The Last Airbender (counts as anime to me), and The Legend of Korra (also counts as anime to me). And even though they don't count as anime, I also like the How to Train Your Dragon movies and the TV series. Books - Ranger's Apprentice, Eragon series, and most anything written by Robin McKinley. I also enjoy the ocean, ramen, chocolate, entertaining people with stories, and making people laugh. Cats and foxes are my favorite animals. Dislikes: Disappointing endings (especially to long-running series), people with nothing better to do than insult others, especially those who do so while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, whenever I find a good fanfic and find out it's been abandoned, fanfics that insult Naruto's wearing orange, fanfics where the author inserts his/herself into the story, fanfics that use real-world locations in stories that have their own world (i.e., real-world locations being used in Naruto stories), and the Naruto pairing war. Hobbies: Creative writing (especially fanfics), learning to play musical instruments (ocarina, piano, and guitar), reading, learning to play games (board, card, and video games), making jewelry, embroidery, and custom-painting Nerf guns to look like Mass Effect guns (check out my Deviant Art profile to see the pistol I painted; my name's the same there as it is here). Goals for the future: ...Yeah, I really don't have any. I guess get through grad school, obtain my Master's of Library Science degree, and work in a library. Other than that, just be happy and finish the stories I've started writing. Okay, so now that that's done, I've got to rant about something. Well, two things. First is about the hate on Naruto's orange clothes, and the second is about the pairing war. Naruto's Clothing Rant: So, I've read quite a few Naruto fanfics, and there's something that's bugging me that I just have to get out here. WHAT IS WITH ALL THE HATE FOR NARUTO'S CHOICE OF COLOR FOR HIS CLOTHES? Seriously, I understand that orange isn't the most popular color in the world, but it's part of who Naruto is, ya know? Why do those of you who change his look in your stories have to hate on the orange so much? And don't give me that crap about orange making him an easy target or not a good color for a ninja to have. Pink, red, and blonde hair aren't exactly stealthy either, so unless Sakura, every surviving Uzumaki, and Naruto wear some sort of hood or hat that covers their hair, they're easy targets too. Plus, pretty much every large jutsu is a dead giveaway to the user's location, and it's not like even the normal jonin/chunin outfit is all that stealthy, especially with that red swirl on the back, which could essentially be a literal target on their backs. My point is, stealth is not exactly always a main thing with the ninjas of the Narutoverse, and when you consider all the pranks Naruto managed to pull off, such as completely painting the Hokage Monument in broad daylight BEFORE getting caught, kinda proves that his choice of clothing-color means nothing. And doesn't it make one a true ninja if he/she can wear something that stands out the most while still remaining hidden? Now, I'm not saying that if you write a fanfic, you can't ever change what a character wears or whatever. You're writing the story; do what you will. All I'm saying here is after like the millionth story referring to Naruto's clothes as "kill me" orange or suggesting that his outfit in some way makes him an easy target is getting on my last nerve. If you guys actually read the manga, you'll see that the color he wears doesn't affect anything, and that he has a personal reason for it: His father was the YELLOW Flash, and his mother was the RED Hot Habanero. And yellow and red make ORANGE. True, Naruto didn't know about that until his talk with his mother, but it was kind of implied that he always liked the color orange for a reason he didn't quite understand. Plus, Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed within him, is also orange. Kurama is based off of the species of fox vulpes vulpes, which is the red fox, and despite the fact that it's called "red", the fur color is actually more orange. And guess what? Foxes are known for being rather sneaky creatures. So anyway, that's all I have to say about it, and I'm sure it won't change a thing. Those of you who hate on the orange will continue to do so, but I really wish that if you're going to change Naruto's look, you'd think of a better reason other than hating on the orange. I for one applaud Naruto's original and individual choice to wear his favorite color despite the fact that it's not everyone's cup of tea so to speak. It makes him different from not only the characters in his own story, but from most other main characters in other stories I've seen. Plus, the dude looks good in orange. Naruto Uzumaki rocks everyone's least favorite color, and he knows it! BELIEVE IT! Naruto Pairing War Rant: This stems mostly from my time spent on Deviant Art where I've seen things from both NaruHina fans and NaruSaku fans arguing back and forth about why their pairings are right. Now, I am a fan of NaruHina, but for crying out loud, people, all this arguing needs to stop. I will never understand why some of you feel the need to "correct" other people on the internet. Who cares if someone doesn't share your opinion on the pairing thing? Do you honestly think that arguing with someone about it is going to make them change their mind? Why waste your time? I once had a NaruSaku fan argue with me about why (I'm assuming it was a girl) her choice of pairing was right. She wrote these epically-long comments to me explaining all her reasoning, and I just could not fathom why she was wasting her time telling me her opinion at all when I made it clear she wasn't going to change my mind. I even asked her repeatedly why she was wasting her time, and eventually I told her that I was done talking to her. Her response? She told me that I was cutting her off because "I knew she was right and just didn't want to admit it." Seriously? One has to be desperate for validation of their argument to pull that kind of crap. In my opinion, if you feel the need to "correct" someone by telling them your opinion is right and theirs is wrong, then you obviously don't feel all that confident about your opinion. If you did, you wouldn't care that others thought differently than you. So basically my point is, just let it go, people. Who cares who likes what pairing? I like NaruHina because I simply like Naruto and Hinata together. If it actually happens in the manga, though, I have no intention of rubbing it into anyone's face, including the NaruSaku fans. I wouldn't like it if they did that to me, so I won't do it to them. We just need to let it go. Have your own opinion without trying to shove it down other people's throats. So that's pretty much it about me. Want to know anything else? PM me. :) Story Info/Updates: Kitsune Ninja is the story I'm mainly focusing on right now. Like with everything I write, updates will be whenever. Set schedules and I don't work well together, so new chapters will come when they come. But this story is the one I'm mainly focusing on. The Adventure of Link and Jiraiya is my secondary focus. Updates of course are on a whenever basis, and the story itself should be much shorter than Kitsune Ninja. How the 4th War was Really Won will be continued eventually. Might not be much more to it since it clearly deviated hard from what Kishi ended with, but I do intend to finish it out eventually. Naruto Effect has been removed as of November 30, 2017. While there were a few who enjoyed it, it mostly received negative feedback. I welcome constructive criticism, but there was virtually none of that. Instead I got everything from nitpicking to outright anger because people were unhappy with me messing with the Mass Effect universe or whatever. I had nothing planned out for the story anyway, so it's just as well that it die. I apologize to the few who actually liked it and would've liked to see it continue. People just ruin things sometimes. If I ever continue it, I might share it privately with anyone who's interested, but I will not publish it again. |
