![]() Author has written 18 stories for Captain Marvel/Shazam, Harry Potter, Gundam Wing/AC, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. *PERSONAL INFO* PEN NAME: Cyn Finnegan REAL NAME: Cynthia Joy Finnegan AGE: Old enough to know better, but too young to resist. GENDER: Are you serious? GENUS: Anglo-Irish mutt IQ: Uh... let's just say I'm a genius and leave it at that, okay? *BIO* I was born in Salinas, California in 1963, eight short days after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Discovered that I wanted to be a writer and an artist at the tender age of ten; discovered the original Captain Marvel (who was the inspiration for many manga characters) a year later, and started writing my own Marvel Family stuff soon after. Discovered manga and anime in the 1980s, thanks to Harmony Gold, and remain a fan of both, especially mecha manga and anime. Writing wise, like James Patterson and Mercedes Lackey, I tend to work on several stories at once, and yes, I can keep the events of each separate from the others. After rediscovering Gundam Wing and Rurouni Kenshin (two animes I hadn't seen since they first aired on Toonami), I felt they would be good series to broaden my writing palette on, instead of being "stuck" in a rut on one subject. *UPCOMING STORIES* Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Remastered, Expanded and Annotated is a rewrite of the anime, minus all the Glory of Losers and Frozen Teardrop claptrap. It will incorporate the pilots' and Relena's origins from Episode Zero (as and where they were originally intended, between Episodes 27 and 28, and as chapters, not as flashbacks), parts from the novelization and manga, and some of the back story from Chronicle of the After Colony Era. G-Unit will similarly be getting the Remastered treatment, and some of the characters in it will be getting visual and textual makeovers. Solis Armonia alone merits one; I mean seriously, she looks like David Bowie's Goblin King from Labyrinth with breasts. And Tokita-san, to me at least, didn't give poor Lucille any real personality beyond bouncing between being a complete dingbat and a shrieking shrew, which doesn't suit the one who created the PX System at all. Note: Lt. Nichol from Gundam Wing and Lt./Captain Cage from G-Unit are the same guy in these rewrites, and minor spoiler, he survives the war and becomes a Preventer in them. As much as I like Blind Target and Ground Zero (GZ's not entirely canon, but it's fun), and tolerate Battlefield of Pacifists (if only for the fact that is establishes a friendship between Duo and Relena), I do NOT want to rewrite any of them. What I want to do is take some of the characters from BT and BoP, add in at least one scene in GZ (namely, where the boys deleting all the info Treize had on them off of the Internet) and write my own story from that. I'm thinking of calling it New World Order (lame title is lame). Simularly, Endless Waltz will receive the Remastered treatment, but I'll be incorporating Let Me Sleep and some of the manga version into it. Among other things, Preventer Five brings back the Gundams and the old farts... I mean the Mad Five. Family Reunion centers around four of the five Gundam pilots finding family members they didn't know they had. One of them will come as a complete surprise. New Preventers (our boys, the boys from G-Unit and a couple of very surprising ones), updating the "new" Gundams, and our boys trying to write a replacement for the ZERO and PX Systems will be the subjects of The System. (I know, another lame title.) The Hand of Sorrow revolves around the return of OZ, and proves that what Mariemaia said about war in Endless Waltz is true. It's fairly Trowa and Quatre centric and darker than some of the others, but it has some humor and a few surprises, too. I won't be publishing the FULL version of HoS here because while I consider its rating to be an "M," this site will probably consider it an "MA" because of violent content. The ORIGINAL title of this was going to be "The Phoenix Faction" after the name the new OZ initially takes, but I happen to like the song by Within Temptation. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Project Neverland deals with the information Hiiro finds on Dorothy's database in HoS, and reveals that our pilots may have met years before the start of Operation Meteor. In Let Slip the Gods of War, there hasn't been a major war on Earth or in the Space Colonies for nearly five years. Our pilots are still working hard to keep the peace they fought so hard to help create. Just days from his retirement as a Preventer field agent, Quatre Raberba Winner goes missing. Who is trying to capture the Gundam pilots, and what's his connection to them? Based on an unfinished 2007 fanfic called Gods of War, by Starlight Soul. In Band on the Run, the regular AC Relena receives a head injury from an accident, and dreams she's an orphan named Cecile who becomes a Gundam pilot herself. On hold for the present. *GW CROSSOVERS* Finding Triton: A Harry Potter/Gundam Wing crossover based on an idea I'd been playing around with, that of Trowa being Harry's and Ginny's son, born while they're still at Hogwarts, in-between Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows. For the Love of a Boy: Don't let the title fool you; it's another Harry Potter/Gundam Wing crossover that plays with another trope, the boys "adopting" Harry during the War, and was inspired by SC Round Robins "Everybody Needs A Hero." Gundam And Thunder: Based on another idea I've been toying around with. Don't know if I'll include Zechs. Culpability And Responsibility: Catherine Bloom is given custody of her six-year-old cousin Harry when she and her brother Trowa become the boy's only living relatives. The other boys help out, of course. Slight AU, more for HP-verse. Future crossovers will include Fullmetal Alchemist, Doctor Who, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (thanks, Sapphie & Blaze!). *GW ALTERNATE UNIVERSE/ALTERNATE REALITY* Guardian: Takes place in modern-day New York City. A lonely boy, made homeless by a violent, unforgiving father, plays his violin in the subway to shut out the horrors of the world. Another lonely boy, alone but for an older sister, wants to protect him. The Wild Hunt: Fantasy/Sword & Sorcery. When one of their number is captured during a brutal battle, a band of brave warriors take on a quest to find and rescue them. Shatter Me (tentative title): Post-war AU; after a brutal attack and a massive betrayal by friends and family leaves him disgraced and disowned, Quatre fakes his own death and leaves the Colonies behind to start a new life on Earth. He soon realizes that, no matter how hard you try, you can't always run away from your past. Mad World: sequel to Shatter Me. Summary TBA. The Winds Sextology: Post-war AU, and very LOOSELY based on angelofsecrets Winds of Change.
There are a couple more, but they don't have anything resembling working titles yet, or much in the way of plots. *NON-GW STUFF* Rurouni Kenshin: Tales of the Wanderer, most of which take place between the ending of Trust and Betrayal and Chapter One of the manga. On hold for the present. Universe-S, the Director's Cut and my other Fawcett-related stuff are on hiatus for the foreseeable future. The stories that I posted here are in the process of being removed for revision and rewriting. *SHIPS* Gundam Wing (and offshoots): Hiiro & Relena, Duo & Hilde (sorry, 1x2 shippers), Trowa & Quatre, Wu Fei & Sally, Zechs & Noin, Treize & Une, Dorothy & Original Male Character, Odin & Luci, Odell & Tricia, Roche & Aretha.
