Author has written 3 stories for Air Gear, and My Hero Academia/僕のヒーローアカデミア. Well let’s move that juinior-high nonsense out of the way XD Welcome to my profile. *wipes some dust off the profile picture* Crap, it’s been years since I’ve layed so much as a finger on this place. Time for introductions! Name: You may call me Fate or Zero. If I’ve known you well enough you’re aware of the other names I go by XP Gender: I’m a guy. Age: I’m a guy in his early twenties. Ethnicity: A black American that loves his anime. Fandoms: MHA, Avatar, Percy Jackson, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Air Gear, Bungo Stray Dogs, and many more. Top three favorite authors: Kawaii Pinky for her storytelling, Heartattack for her symbolism and metaphorical description style, and Monty’s Cloudy Day for always knowing how to raise the stakes and get me hype for whatever he puts his mind to. While I’ve also been inspired by the likes of Thalio, Arrow-chan3, Insanity’s Jewel, Lawrence Cartwright, and A Terrific Acorn, these three hold a special place in my heart. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, time for the important stuff you all likely showed up for. My Hero Academia Revolution Update 8/12!: I might have made the deadline a bit too far without any content or a decision. The new due date is September 15th for Quirkless and I will be evaluating Quirk holders from the 16-19th. If you need extra time feel free to ask me after at least sending me a bit of your progress. Update 9/5!: Thank you Penguin Thing for your suggestion on fixing my glitchy profile. Had to alter the freaking source code but now nobody’s screen should be spazzing the heck out. The deadline is approaching and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity :) Update 9/16!: Well, the first round of submissions have come through and the Quirkless auditions are closed. Those who I have given extra time still have the opportunity to send me their characters for review, and it seems I might be expanding the class a bit considering how many Quirkless I've liked so far and decided to accept. Here's your Quirkless Class roster so far. 1. Josefina Rose Marlowe, F, Vice, ARMS - JackHammerMan 2. Cassiopeia Fox, F, Oven Gloves, Regalia - UnseenAssailant 3. Leon Wright, M, Fulmination Engine, Regalia - KaousuShin 4. Sevyn Rivers, M, Asura, Mantle - Me 5. Nadejda Szekely, F, A.T.H.O.S, Chariot - Elements08 6. Alison Aquino, F, The Ritual Cane, ARMS - Obie527 7. Dominic Knox, M, Sirocco, Regalia - Me The grand total amount of quirk wielding characters I receive and accept will determine whether or not the final number of Quirkless/Zeroes will stop at 8 or expand. I await your submissions and look forward to seeing what you come up with. First, a bit of background info on Exodus. Exodus is a new organization that was born after White Thursday. While there have been small Quirkless alliance groups, Zeroes gangs, and tiny vigilante justice groups in the past, Exodus is by far the largest organization of its kind. It goes beyond the simple notions of a gang and instead rapidly became an organized crime syndicate that could contend with the likes of the Mafia or Yakuza. They are an inclusive organization that takes in Quirkless, Zeroes, and even those with powerful quirks among their numbers for the sake of fighting for the rights of those that were not lucky to be born with powerful quirks. They do thinks like fund businesses run by Quirkless and Zeroes, maintain shelters for those who are unemployed, provide personal escorts for people that feel too scared to walk home at night, and members are under strict obligation to intervene when they see a Zero or Quirkless in danger. They will even provide bail for protestors arrested during demonstrations. While on the surface they appear to be a charitable organization, they are also dangerous. Their primary business deals in the distribution of illegal arms and technology from foreign nations among themselves and individuals that they feel are lacking in the power to protect themselves. They are not opposed to target officials and important people of influence that stand against their goals through whatever means they feel are necessary. Extortion, bribes, kidnapping someone’s loved ones, torture, all of these are on the table if Exodus feels it is required. Exodus seeks to break the current status quo in order to allow equal opportunity for everyone to live the lives they wish regardless of the quality/presence of a quirk, but they are not afraid to let the blood of those that stand in their way run in the streets. They see themselves as a family and will always support one another however they can, and betrayal is seen as a cardinal sin. They are a pseudo-religious organization as well and tend to foster a value in the act of service towards their fellow man and the greater good. Nobody knows how this organization came to be and only know the leader by his alias: Malachi The Prophet. As he’s always been masked when making an appearance online, uses a voice modulator when he speaks over the radio, and has an associate that erases the memory of what he looks like from people’s mind but not the emotional impressions he leaves behind. Ever since Exodus came into power, two pro heroes who have had allegations against Quirkless or Zeroes have disappeared. The most recent happened two weeks before chapter 1. Some see them as domestic terrorists, others view them as freedom fighters. But which is the truth? Gadget Classes ARMS - The Emitter equivalent. Arms are essentially weapons meant to fire projectiles, project energy, manipulate existing forces, or enhance their base function. A sword that has a rocket booster in the hilt to improve mobility and thrusting speed, a gun that fires pressurized blasts of air that it collects through vents, a wand that can manipulate the magnetic force of the things it touches, or even a hammer that has an inertia generator amplifying its impact and swing speed all are classified as arms. Specialized ammunition meant to be used as grenades or bullets can also function as Arms, but they are far from invincible. Arms suffer from limited or highly specific ammunition; as the more powerful an Arm is, the fewer times it should be usable in rapid succession. Limited ammunition, a cooldown time, overheating threshold, these are things you should keep in mind when you’re hypothesizing these weapons. You should also keep in mind what they are using as a source of energy and how they are refueling. An air cannon has virtually unlimited ammo but can only fire blasts of wind that lose effectiveness with distance and can be easily defended against with sturdy enough armor or an obstacle. MANTLE - The Transformation equivalent. Mantles are gadgets that are worn on the body, often utilized to help enhance someone’s maneuverability or dexterity. While a mantle can appear very similar to an Arm, it all boils down to application. A glove that shoots lightning would be considered an arm, but a glove that fires carbon fiber grappling lines from the fingertips would be considered a Mantle. A hydraulic glove that functions as a pile bunker to improve the force of a punch while also acting as a launching mechanism for the user, a set of metallic tendrils strapped to the user’s spine that can lift them or attack opponents, a hard light generator strapped to the spine that can manifest holographic arms that are connected to rings the user wears on their hands, the trademark jetpack, or a pair of rocket boots are all classified as Mantles. Mantles tend to be limited either by fuel, function, or strain/weaknesses on the individual using them. They often specialize in close to mid-range except for when a Mantle is used to throw something. These machines are all about enhancing something about the user rather than screwing over their opponents. When in doubt, a Mantle and whatever it creates always remains connected somehow to the user’s body. Sometimes students will opt to have small submachines implanted in their bodies to help their designs work better, like magnetic plates to brace machines or a hidden slot for fuel storage. A parental consent waiver is necessary to go under the knife but these operations are rather minimal and performed by the best medical engineers that money can buy. The only downside is that the students have to dictate exactly what they want them to do and the professionals are not allowed to make any deviations from the clients’ plans. Mantles either come in pairs for a set of limbs or exclusively are worn on one part of the body like the back, chest, or head. You’re not making an Iron man suit, you’re making his repulsor gauntlets for flight stabilization. REGALIA - The Mutant equivalent. This is a modification that will follow your characters for the rest of their life. This is where your characters go beyond just having submachines in their bodies to support hardware and instead are willing to remove portions of their bodies to amplify them with technology. Regalia often manifest as prosthetics that create an integral change within the user’s body. Do you want a mechanical arm? Two mechanical arms? What about lungs that breathe fire? Eyes that can track high moving targets? This is your chance to unleash the cyborg that you’ve always wanted to be. But as with all things, there must be balance. Regalia can simulate functions similar to Arms or Mantles, but there is also a more physiological price. Because of how taxing Regalia is on the body and how much effort goes into ensuring that the immune system doesn’t reject the new additions, at the moment your OC can only have two augmentations. They do not both have to be the same, but at their base function, they function better than the average example of the thing replaced unless you tell me otherwise. If you go full physical enhancement, you get access to different ‘gears’ of strength. At the moment you get three: civilian, hero, and overdrive. Overdrive modes can have a single unique trait as a response of drawing so much on the power source. Crackling with fire, glowing with heat, severe vibrations that can cause rupturing upon contact, etc. Otherwise, limit each augmentation to a single broad function and at max 3 sub-functions. For example, an eye regalia’s main function is to fire laser beams, you get three settings such as stun, rapid-fire, and consistent stream. Your sub-functions must be in some way related to the main one, don’t make a hand that shoots fire suddenly transform into a water gun or a rifle. Throughout the story, I will hit you up and allow you to add more subfunctions or completely overhaul the augmentation if you give me a solid explanation. CHARIOT - The Chariot has no particular quirk equivalent save for a specific subsection of Emitter quirks. Chariots are machines meant to essentially function as companions and partners for the user. These can range from floating orbs the size of a baseball, a small swarm of metallic flies, a robotic animal (No bigger than a lion or gorilla), or your own little robot sidekick. These chariots are of three categories: shields, swords, or crowns. Shields are robots built with tough armor and are bred to be the iron defenders of the user, often equipped with blades or blunt force tools installed to excel in hand to hand combat or strenuous physical labor. Swords are assault weapons, armed with munitions or energy weapons that can provide mid to long-range attacks and have a much lighter body that lets them dart around the battlefield or fly. Crowns are robots meant to solely benefit the user, such as an AI that provides live data and fighting style analysis or a series of nanobots that provide healing and stabilization of the user’s wounds. Chariots can be controlled vocally, through remote control, or with an AI involved, but each of these options should come with their own sets of weaknesses. Breaking the remote, stopping the user from speaking, the AI misunderstanding commands, etc. Your AI can’t be Ultron, AM, Terminator, or any of the classic “destroy all humans” high-grade military AI. Think along the lines of AI on the level of Goddard, GIR, Robotboy, or JARVIS before he became Vision. Think of the strongest UA student in a class, now think of the second strongest, your Chariot in its first model should be ranked at number 9 at most. Chariots will have opportunities for model redesigns in the future and additions, as there will be MK II and III versions available at later points in the story. Your characters are mechanical masterminds, but here’s a nice way to gauge your creativity. The smaller and more fragile the robots, the more you get to have. The max you can have is ten if they are visible, for example, dragonfly recon drones. The more robots you have, the less durable they are. The bigger/tougher they are, the heavier/slower they are. And if they have some firepower like lasers, hard light bullets, or lightning, they will have to deal with conserving and regulating power and ammunition. In other words, build your robot balanced as if you were building a first-year UA student. The Rules (Updated.) 1. Send me your characters via PMs (Revolution, Character name, Quirk/Gadget name, Quirk type/Gadget class) Keep things in a single PM thread. If I get more and it’s not a fluke or accident I’m deleting the clutter. 2. You may PM me questions, but character sheets are to be PM’d here (I need my personal inbox to stay that way): Prince of Kats- Tybalt. Listed in my Favorite Authors tab. 3. No Mary Sus or Gary Stus, you will be told no. 4. This is going to be a long haul so I ask you to be patient with me, please don’t bombard me with messages. I’ll get to you when I can. 5. Review...please? It’s one of the only ways I know if this story is being read by anyone and it helps me learn how to fix any mistakes you may see. You don’t have to review all the time, every other chapter would be nice. 6. If you leave a review I will prioritize looking at your OC. It doesn’t have to be super long or a whole essay but it lets me know that you’re excited and you’re invested in the story and not just getting a spotlight. I’ll still read your submission if you don't review though, it’ll just be further down the list. 7. This will be a class of both Quirkless and Quirk users, so I will be opening the spots one at a time to save myself the massive headache. I’m accepting 12 students in total for now (5 Quirkless, 1 Zero, 6 Quirk weilders) The first round is for Quirkless students and shall be ending on September 15. I will make my cast choice then, take your time. I may expand the cast list if I’m confident enough but for now it’s 12 in total. 8. From September 16-19th, send me your OCs that have quirks and not a day before. The only exception is sending me a Zero, which can be sent in the Quirkless window since a Zero’s quirk is rather irrelevant. They can be sent during the Quirkless window. Dont wait until this week to MAKE your quirked students, you can make them during the previous window. Just send them in during this period. 9. I’m new to the SYOC game, please let me know if I’m doing your characters justice. 10. Give. Me. DETAILS!! But dont give me useless information. 11. Are DC/Marvel references in gadgets okay? Yes. Are carbon copies okay? Absolutely not. You may take inspiration from Thor’s hammer to create a returning weapon that hits really hard, but if it shoots lighting and only the creator can lift it you and I will have a problem. 12. Delete all the parenthesis in the OC sheet when you submit. And in the extra section write Bleeding Edge. If it’s not there, I’m ignoring you because you didn’t read the rules. 13. Since the Cavalry Initiative is rather new, no foreign students. Their family can be immigrants, but they have to have either been born in America or grew up there for most of their life. 14. Don’t send me recycled characters. 15. When Quirk submissions open up don’t send me overpowered All For One/One for All clones or things along the lines of time manipulation, black hole creation, necromancy, telekinesis, technopathy/technokinesis, teleportation, or any kind of super conditioning (strength, speed, durability) that even looks like it resembles something on Marvel/DC levels. If it’s an overused/stock superpower like manipulating elements, give them your own unique twist to make them different. For my sake, quirks that create entities are limited to one, so no clones. 16. Quirks that qualify for Zeroes would be the sorts that were used by Izuku’s middle school classmates in season 1 or David Shield’s quirk. Stretchy eye stalks, super flexible fingers, an inflatable head, gag quirks essentially. The strongest it can be is a zoom quirk like Mei Hatsume. 17. No blood relationships to canon characters, you can have other connections like friends of the family or colleagues if you give me a good explanation. 18. Have fun with this :) AND FINALLY, THE SYOC SHEET BASIC Name: (First name, Last name. You can add a Middle name if applicable ) Nickname: (Do they have names they would introduce themselves as among friends? Nicknames that follow them from home? Let me know here and if they have a preference being called their nickname rather than their first name) Hero Name: (Standard Stuff, have it relate to them in some way. This could be based on how they look, what they stand for, or what their Quirk does. You don’t have to give it an epithet(Such as Everything Hero in Momo’s hero name) but you can if you want.) Gender: (I'm down with anything) Sexuality: (Again, down with anything.) Age & Birthday: (As a first year they must be 15-16. For birthday, keep it to a Month-Day format. Don't worry about year.) Ethnicity: (Caucasian, Latino, African American, Korean, Caribbean, etc.) APPEARANCE (You can be Quirkless and have some aesthetic mutations, just don’t go overboard and give me back tentacles, massive horns, or fangs that could be considered too useful) Height & Weight: (For the sake of my sanity describe this in feet and inches. Weight shall be described in pounds. Please make sure they make sense. You cannot be 6'5" and 95 lbs. Unless, of course, your quirk makes you a pile of bones XD.) Hair Colour: (We’re going by anime logic so go as crazy or as normal as you want. Want them to have only a single streak of hair that is the colour of a rainbow, and then have literally no other hair? Go right ahead. But I request if it’s not outright just a classic rainbow you keep hair limited to two tones max. Let me know where the colors are if their hair isn’t a solid shade.) Hair Length & Style: (How long is their hair? Do they keep it up in a bun at all times? Do they keep it styled in some special way? I'm not going to accept replications of too many hair styles here, so try to make it unique. It would help if you linked a picture to your hairstyle in the “other” section if you have trouble describing it, but please do your best ) Eye Color/Shape:( Is their entire eye, sclera and all, black? Is their pupil a special shape? Are their irises different colours? Do they have almond eyes? Round eyes? Let a brother know. ) Voice: (How do they talk? What do they sound like? Just their mannerisms, accents, those sort of things here.) Seiyuu: (For the first time in a while we get English Dub Voice actors XD Let me know who is your voice actor and what character voice in their repertoire fits your character. Some of you may pick the same VA but a totally different character, go nuts) Skin tone/Complexion: (You can have normal skin tones or weird ones due to aesthetic mutations. Just don’t give me moving patterns. Are they as dark as the endless void? Are they as white as snow? What is their skin’s texture if there’s something special about it?) Body Type: ( Are they muscular? Are they scrawny? Are they skeletal? Are they fat? Are they busty? Pretty simple stuff here, just give me a solid description of their body here. If you are submitting a female and wish to, you can include a cup size here as well. Mention any physical modifications, implants, or prosthetics that are visible in this section as well. If your character has a mutation quirk, add what makes them different here as well. Please include any bodily piercings.) Facial Description: (How is their face shaped? Is it chiseled? Is it round? Is it sharp? That stuff. What are their lips like? Thin? Plump? Is their nose petite? Large? Are their ears somewhat pointy? Small? These sort of things should go here. Also, please mention any facial piercings here.) Face Claim (Optional): (If you had to assign an actor/model to their face, who would it be?) Markings: (This is anything from scars to birthmarks. Just marks that are lasting on their body essentially.) Clothing Style: (What are their normal outfits outside of class? Do they dress glamorous? Like a bum? Do they show skin? Are they sporty? Tell me what your character goes for when they can pick clothes for themselves.) Outfit Example 1 (Fall season): Outfit Example 2 (Going out with friends for a night): Formal Attire: Nightwear: (Dorms are a thing so keep that in mind, if you sleep nude prepare for your roommate to have some stern words for you) Lounge clothes: (When school is done and you have a free day to yourself.) Uniform Style or Alterations: (If they are a mutant or have large prosthetics there will be accommodations made for them. Male Uniforms include a white button down shirt (Long or short sleeved) with the school’s emblem on the right shoulder. The emblem is a blue shield with CA in red stylized letters at the center. Students have the option of wearing a blazer or vest (Red or Blue options for both) with a black tie and tan pants. They are free to wear whatever shoes they wish. Vests will have a black shield with a white Roman numeral for 1 on the left breast while the blazers have a larger shield across their shoulder blades. Because I hate how often female uniforms are limited, I’m giving some options here. Firstly, students have the option to choose one of three types of tan bottoms: a skirt, shorts, or high-waisted pants. Shirts and shorts come in optional variations of knee-length to mid thigh. They also wear white button down shirts (Long or short sleeved) with the school emblem on their left shoulder instead of the right. They have vest and blazer options in shades of red or blue with a black tie around their neck. Like the boys they have the freedom to wear whatever shoes they wish but are advised against wearing heels. The school allows minor personal alterations like buttons, cufflinks, lapels, and choice of socks, but they can’t be too distracting and they advise against wearing anything that could hinder you springing into action at a moment’s notice. Do they wear their uniform tucked, ironed, and perfect? Do they undo a few buttons and untuck their shirt? Do they look like they just rolled out of bed? Let me know here. Just make sure you don’t change the fundamental base.) Accessories: (Do they have any form of accessories they wear? Any bracelets, necklaces, rings, things like that. Let me know. Specify if these accessories are with their street outfits or normal uniform) PERSONAL Backstory: ( Now this is one of the make it or break it parts of a character. Remember, not every hero has dead parents, and you can have a positive upbringing while still wanting to be a hero. Quirkless people may deal with some issues but they also aren’t completely hopeless. Quirkless people have created and owned businesses, function exceptionally well in humanitarian fields, and are often very dedicated and hardworking people. Not every place in America is cruel towards Quirkless people and there are plenty of places where they thrive economically even if they are in the smaller margin. While a lack of a quirk makes life a bit more challenging, it doesn’t mean your characters can’t pull through or have some outside assistance. Feel free to play with how being Quirkless or Quirk enables has affected your character’s life, as while some can hold grudges and be antagonistic that isn’t all that there is. ) Family: (This could be blood related or just someone they consider close enough to be family. Include their name, age, relation, some stuff about their personality and appearance, you know, that sort of thing. Let me know what quirks their family had or if one of their parents may have also been quirkless. I need the names of any and every family member you want involved in your character’s story. ) Personality: (I at least want three to five paragraphs, and genuine information about who your character is as a person instead of a list of traits. How do they behave when happy? How do they treat friends? How do they treat their enemies? What would make them hate someone? What are their values? What is driving them to fight against the odds to attend Clark Academy? How do they view the things they create? Tell me everything you need me to know so I can fulfill your vision.) Likes: (At least five) Dislikes: (At least five) Strengths: (What are some of their physical strengths? What are some of their strengths regarding them as a person? Do they have a particular set of skills? Are they good with animals? Balance with weaknesses.) Weaknesses: (Where does their physicality and body fail them? Where does their personality and mentality fail them? What really hurts them most? What do they struggle with? Try to have them equal to or greater than strengths. And if you put pride please don’t let that stand alone.) Habits: (These can be bad, they can be weird, they can be funny, or they can be good. Sevyn sings while he builds, Isaac laces his fingers together and squeezes them to calm down, let me know what little quirks (pun intended) your characters have.)) Hobbies: (At least one. Everyone has a hobby, everyone has something they do in their past time, and NO! Training can not be your only hobby! Same goes with building, as everyone in some capacity needed that hobby in order to get this far if they built machines. If they have quirks, feel free to add building stuff to the list.) Fears: (Basic Stuff, at least one here, everyone is scared of something. And no cop-out fears or stuff that will never happen: failure, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, losing, being in space, etc.) Secrets: (Again, at least one. We all have secrets. All of us. It doesn’t have to be something extreme if you don’t want it to be. What is something your character would want to hide and perhaps tell me why.) Ambitions: (What do they want to do as a Hero? Why are they following this path? What is their endgame?) Scenes: (Anything you picture your character doing? Could be huge, could be small, I wanna know.) Words to live by: (What would be fitting as their motto? What quotes would you say suit them best? “The only one that can beat me is me”, “Live, laugh, love”, “20 dollars is 20 dollars”, etc.) Quotes: (Something to give me a little bit of insight into your character. This will help me gauge how their personality bleeds into their speech and mannerisms. At least 5 quotes.) Opinions on Quirkless in society: Opinions on those that have Quirks: What do they think of Exodus? Why?: Would they join Exodus if they could? Why?: QUIRK (If you are quirkless, ignore and delete this section) Quirk Name: (This can be really basic, this can be eloquent, but keep it short and simple. Maintain the spirit of MHA’s quirk naming conventions and make them related to the ability. ) Quirk Type: (Emitter, Transformation, or Mutant. No, there will be no hybrids. And no copy quirks unless you can manage to not make a Monoma clone while still keeping things balanced ) Quirk Description: (What does their Quirk do? How does it function? What are its uses? Be detailed but clear and concise) Quirk Strengths: (What are the pros of their Quirk? Must have at least three, must be equal to or less than weaknesses.) Quirk Weaknesses: (What are the cons of their Quirk? Must have at least three, must be equal to or greater than strengths.) Super moves: (You get three to start off with.) Potential moves: (Your character can learn these as they grow stronger.) Ultimate move: (When the chips are down, this is the move that gives all the character has. Deku’s smash, Bakugo’s big explosion that puts serious strain on his arms, Red Riot Unbreakable, this is your badass moment.) GADGETS (Ignore and delete if you have a quirk and are not a zero. Fill out all that apply and place N/A in fields that don’t.) Gadget name: (Feel free to name your gadget whatever you wish, as it will be your character’s signature weapon and will be the basis of their hero career. It can be an anagram or just a regular name.) Gadget class: (Arms, Mantle, Regalia, or Chariot. As with quirks, I don’t allow combos. But I will allow creative application of using one like another, such as installing thrusters in a Regalia to provide maneuverability usually seen in Mantles or being lifted with a harness by your Chariot.) Power source: (Batteries, mini-arc reactor, solar powered, electricity, gas, steam, spring-loaded, etc.) Appearance: (What does your gadget look like? Really paint that picture for me here. Let me know it’s dimensions and how big it is too.) Description: (What is your gadget made of? How does it work? What can it do? What makes it tick? Does it have a personality if it’s an AI? What is that personality? How much does it weigh? Can anyone use it? Are there security measures in place to keep others from using it? What is it meant to do? How much force can it exude? How much can it lift? How fast can it go? Tell me everything.) Ammunition: (What is your gadget capable of projecting?. Each munitions based gadget has the protocols: non-lethal, inorganic, and emergency/lethal force. This can be power output settings on an energy based weapon or three different types of ammunition. Lasers for example would have a blunt force/sting setting, a slicing setting, and a melting setting. Normal guns would have rubber bullets, micro missiles for controlled explosions, and live rounds. You will primarily be limited to the first two in most situations and often only use the first option when in a classroom setting. For those whose gadget is primarily what is being fired instead of what, this is where you go into detail about it. How is it made? What does it do? This is for those that want to be Honey Lemon, have Joker Venom, manipulate a blob of metallic puddy with a wand, or make some of the classic Bungee-Gum. If your gadget is more centered on “what” they are firing instead of “how”, the meat of your description would likely go here.) Carrying Capacity: (Describe how much of each ammunition type can be stored within the gadget and how it is stored/reloaded. Depending on the size and dimensions of the ammunition you can then give me an idea on how much your hero can feasibly carry to reload without it being a nuisance. If your ammo is infinite, it better be something really easy to collect like air or have a longer charge time like sunlight. Energy weapons have a cool down time between so many shots, with stronger/more destructive energies like lasers or lightning having a longer gap between shots than weaker forms of energy like wind. ) Sub functions: (This is for Regalia. You are allowed to have up to three sub functions of your regalia that either acts as a gear system to regulate power or different settings of your ability. Always remember that every machine must have a non-lethal setting.) Power Gauges: (The Mantle equivalent of the non-lethal, inorganic, and emergency/lethal force options. What does that look like for your gadget/how would it apply?) Gadget Strengths: (What is it best at? Must be equal or less than weaknesses?) Gadget Weaknesses: (Where does your gadget fall short? What are it’s weak points? Must be equal or greater than strengths.) Kill switch: (How can you quickly subdue your gadget in an emergency? All gadgets must have this function. A vibro-sword or lightsaber copy may have a deadman switch that makes it shut off once the user lets go, a chariot may have a button or switch located on the body where it can be turned off if compromised or it goes berserk, and special substances have things that can neutralize/dissolve the special ammunition produced) Special moves: (You get three) Grand Finale: (You push your machine to its limits and briefly overcharge it with power that allows it to briefly go beyond its normal capabilities before inevitably crashing. Think the Tony Stark Unibeam, Death the Kid’s Twin Laser shot, or the Demon Armor from Guts. What happens when your gadget is pushed to the limits? You can bus it with a new property or tweak its power if you wish as long as it makes sense. Like the vibro-sword example suddenly being able to transfer vibrations through the air to create a slicing shockwave. Arms can have one or two uses of their overdrive, Mantles can sustain for a max of a minute, and Regalia can maintain their Overdrive for five minutes. For Arms this is called a Killshot and for Mantles this is called an Evolution. Naturally these terms were agreed upon by the gadget builders at large despite the government insisting otherwise. Also, tell me what happens when the Grand Finale ends.) Standby procedure: (How is the gadget stored when not in use? Does it have a case? Does it fold to make it easier to carry? Does it need a large case on wheels to cart around? Does it become a statue? Does it look different when shut off or in standby mode? Does the unique fuel have to be kept in certain conditions? How would your character keep their gadget on them/move it around when it’s not in use?) Mk II upgrades: (Potential techniques and improvements when your character is given the chance to upgrade their gadgets with new materials and more experience. What would they change? What new techniques/applications would those changes bring?) Tweaks: (Minor improvements between Mk II and III) Mk III upgrades: (What would the pinnacle form of your gadget look like? What support gear, extra functions, or added bonuses would be added? This is just an idea of what final design you want me to aim for throughout the upgrade process. It’ll be a long road to getting here, but this is likely the sort of thing they would have around graduation.) Heroics Hero Outfit: (The aesthetics of what people see when they look upon your hero in full costume.) Support Gear: (These are parts of the costume meant to compensate for the user’s weakness and improve their strength. For Quirk users this section is as expected, and for Quirkless this section is meant to describe what other smaller sub-machines are needed to make sure your gadget functions correctly. This can be rings used as remotes, head gear, magnetic implants, holsters, etc.) Fighting Style: (How do your characters fight? Are they the type to throw themselves across the battlefield while unleashing devastating attacks, or the type to be stationary while delivering concise strikes? Are they properly trained?
