![]() Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter, Inheritance Cycle, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Twilight. Greetings fellow earthlings. First things first, yeah? So if you'll notice, if you care to look up, this account was created on 02-07-06. At that point in time, I was approximately 353,545,449 seconds old, meaning I’d just had my eleventh birthday. I had to lie on the register thing when it asked if I was over 13, and I explicitly remember that moment because it was the most sinister thing I’d yet done in my young life, especially seeing as how it was done without the permission of my mother (oh shock and horror). I lied about my name and age and pretty much everything because as you all know everyone on the internet at that point was a kidnapper. My writing career started a few months later with A Vacation Gone Bad, a Harry Potter fanfiction. If you’ve read it, I pity you, because I look back on it now and find it adorably terrible of my past self to think she was capable of writing. I leave it here, though it’s a major embarrassment, because it was the first time I’d written something I found worth sharing, and the response was surprisingly nice, so there’s that excuse. All Alone was written not long after and I don’t even know what the hell that was supposed to be, really, and no one else really did either so that’s okay. But it was under the Harry Potter category so I suppose it would have wound up tying into that somehow were I not a flighty little eleven year old. I’m Lost Without You was one that I actually loved writing, but I stopped because I had no idea where it was going. Then I turned twelve, and here comes what may be the worst, More Than A Day In The World of Harry Potter, where I created the Mary Sue of the Century and sent her off to Hogwarts. It was also when I was an idiot and tried self promoting by copying and pasting reviews into others people’s stories, because I was an idiot. Not a high point, definitely. AND GOD PRAISE HALLELUIA WINTER LIGHT WAS BORN, the only story I think I’ve ever actually finished and it wasn’t half bad! Yay!! But that went to crap when Summer Night happened because I was a review addict at that point so I went all Disney mentality and decided to make a sequel to get more of them. It sucked. There’s that story. In Your Dazzling Blue Eyes was actually fun, I was still twelve and I met my first ever friend from the internet. The story itself sucks, of course, because it’s a Mary Sue again with Jack Sparrow (oh my), but I enjoyed myself. That one is over because I got bored and stopped and I don’t know where I was going. The Tale of Three Teenage Troublemakers happened before I even knew what alliteration was, so I’m proud mini me, then 13, for that title. Other than that, though, I’ve no idea what I was doing. And lastly, Compared to Us, Romeo and Juliet had it Easy was born because of a Twilight phase (we all had them, stop judging) and ended because of said phase’s demise due to the introduction of pregnancy in the last book (I’m terrified of babies and that thing going all “Alien” on Bella turned me off for eternity, sorry). So those are my stories and my excuses for their existence. I leave them here because that’s really where it started for me, and though they’re all varying levels of terrible compared to the things my increased skill level permits me to craft now, I think I will always look back at them and smile. It was the love of the work of others as well as the community, friendship, and camaraderie offered by fandom that helped to pull me out of a very dark time in my life. It gave remarkably stupid and nearly illiterate eleven-year-old “Zillac Potter” a purpose and a hobby. Though these works are novice and horrendous at best, between the lines they tell the story of a young girl who learned to use her words to create new worlds to escape to with the help of worlds already created by others, who found a sincere and deep love of writing terrible fiction, and who found bits and pieces of herself somewhere along the way. No matter how much I try, I will never have enough will power to press that delete button. |
