Author has written 63 stories for Silmarillion, Lord of the Rings, Lord Of The Rings Online, and Hobbit. Where have I been 5/19/2019... I have not had any motive or pushing drive to write or update...I know, I do occasionally feel bad thinking about how I left people off in "Rockslide" and "Vine-Fairy", but I don't feel it that much. I don't really feel a lot lately. I guess worrying about family situation and dreading the worst takes a lot out of you. Have two beautiful dogs that make life easier to get through, so there's that. I'm also going into College this fall. I kind of feel like I've been taken back into the real world, of which part of me is grateful. I enjoy feeling useful and doing something actually productive, instead of being in fantasy all the time (although I have been doing a lot of alternate universes with role play...). One day I'll look at the WIP chapter for Rockslide and really feel inspired to get it done. What's ironic is that I am *this* close to being finished with Rockslide and Vine-Fairy...Kind of sucks that I have to be brain-dead when we are close to the climax :/ Hope everyone has a good life...and that you find Christ. Things are going to get really really chaotic before it gets better. Who I am: A teenager that is very creative, likes imagining often, procrastinates often, loves J.R.R Tolkien's writing, and has a obsession about elves. Give me all the pretty pretty stuff! Where I started writing: I am a big J.R.R fan and often spent my time Role-playing on the Lord of the Rings Online. A couple years ago I finally started getting into writing extensive stories for the characters that I role-played within Middle-Earth; one character in particular started a whole trend that ended up me having MANY elves (and a few Maiar), with at least ten of them with very intricate stories and backgrounds. What I write: Edit three, or four...So, different from when I first started. It seems easier to write canon stuff given people know the characters from the fandom, and can understand things and stuff, since we have given them a "default" base, it seems. Depending on who is being written (Legolas being angsty, Twins being mischievous (though I intend more comedy than prank, if I focus on them eventually). However, if I can, I would like to be able to write a long fan series that could contain like 4-6 books, filled with original, fleshed out characters that could live in Tolkien's world. Just give me a decade, or if you invent a device that can write what you are thinking for you; please let me know. What I know about the lore of Middle-Earth: I have read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings (all three books...though not the extra info found at the back of the Return of the King, I probably should .), The Silmarillion (listened to it rather, many times over), and I have most of the History of Middle-Earth books, though Morgoth's Ring in particular I have delved into the most. In other, more obscure regions within Tolkien's writing (such as the Ainur), I am mostly going on my own speculations and how other fan-fiction writers interpret some of the lore. What to find here: There will be a lot of snippets and some canon character stories, though, as stated above, I would like to post a long fan series of original characters. Why am I here: Originally I came here to share my original characters that I have role played in the Lord of the Rings Online, their history and such. I still intend to do such, if the motive comes and the writer block goes away. But since writing canon characters is also fun, I will be doing those too. Your words and reviews would be very much appreciated. :) 3/19/2018 I kind of should add as a separate note for anyone reading this profile or my stories, as a further thing of what to expect from me: I strive to put a new face on the fandom at least in my corner of the internet. I have put some new faces on a few of our beloved characters, fleshed out some who are obscure and vague, I try to be realistic with things such as injuries, and much more. Most of my stories all link up together in some way or another (Unless they are stated as AU, then it diverts from my main canon, although the characters remain the same as if it was part of the main canon), and if something is not completely clear, it might be clear in another place. :) I'll be willing to share some of my ideas with you if you ask. If you like seeing some new things, then this might be the place for you. Note on Guest Reviews: I appreciate all reviews, and yes, while I struggle with constructive criticism at times (we all do), I love it when people analyze the story down and point out why something is either good or bad or reach an idea that I had not thought of but is still applicable. But guest reviews: I cannot answer your comments or ideas without writing out a long author's note to answer a question you may have, explain why something is in a story, or why I disagree with the conclusion you reached and try to explain where I am coming from and try to support my idea in hopes that you may go: "That is an interesting take on (topic of choice), thank you for explaining even though I don't fully agree with it." When leaving a guest review, take it into consideration on what your words might imprint on any author. Saying you are sad or disappointed when an author needs to be away for real life matters because you don't get an update in the time you hoped for can hurt the writer, even though you mean well. Or saying: "I disagree and it has to be this way and only this way." Or: "I thought it was supposed to be this way, (without saying: "but it could be possible in this scenario.")". Never allowing the author to try and defend their point of view leaves them floundering and hurt, because it feels like we are being dictated by a person we can never contact. It becomes condescending after a while. If you want to leave a comment as a guest, please be polite, but if you want to say something that might make the author want to explain why something is the way it is in a story, please make an account. It makes our lives easier, especially when we put blood and tears into something that only takes a reader a few minutes to read. :) Even when you can't see Him, GOD is there! Ranger's Scop, KiyaNamiel Writer's Depression Writer's Depression - A condition where an author feels sad when they see the last time they updated a story, but are unable to get a move on and finish a chapter because creative blocks or real life like to get in the way. Causes: Overdue updates, little motivation, obligations to continue writing even though you are not in the mood, having ideas you want to write out but can't...basically can't write in general no matter how hard you try. Treatment options: Talk to someone about your block and let them give you ideas. Open up the document and try to write your idea out, even if you write one word every hour. Stare at what you have written so far and plod through it, even if you feel uninspired. If you are focusing on one story, try writing something else to use the creative power on, and the block may disappear. Write something for someone else-it makes you feel good and the person you are gifting the story to. And last: hire someone to write it for you (though where's the fun in that?) Copy paste this in your profile if you suffer from Writer's Depression, and help another out by leaving a nice comment to let them know their work is appreciated. :) STOP assuming Maedhros and Fingon are gay. Stop assuming any two best friends that are the same sex are homosexual or secret homosexuals. People can be friends. People can have the brother/sister they never had. Life is NOT about who the next person is you are going to get hot and heavy with, real or fiction. David and Jonathan in the Bible were best friends. Not only that, please respect the viewpoints of the author when they are TELLING you what their religion and certain viewpoints are. Can you imagine the anger and grief we experience when people even mention these relationships? If you support the movement, then think about the disappointment or anger you feel when you are told the two characters you were desperately hoping were together are not and never will be. That is the case with us who do not support it, especially when we are reading a decent story and get served a low blow with no warning. Play it safe. Treat them as platonic unless specifically said otherwise by the author. Treat Maedhros and Fingon as the cousins and best friends Tolkien intended them to be. No secret or forbidden "love". Yes, so many fictions are unfortunately Fingon/Maedhros implied or blatant, but please respect the minority that is people that want them to stay platonic (especially when they give one of them a wife. Have you read the "Laws and Customs of the Eldar"?). Heck: write more platonic Maedhros and Fingon! You may get more views and readers! Current OC-Centered Stories in Series (top to bottom) The Songs are Fairer Elsewhere: The summary is already listed. Current status: This has gone beyond writer's block. Due to circumstances of me not roleplaying anymore in Lord of the Rings Online, the characters and their history have become a past memory/experience sort of deal. I have put a lot of effort into them and I still would like to try and write the sagas, but it may not be for a while while my focus has shifted to canon stories. It will continue, when I feel like going back to my family of elves. I strongly suggest listening to Adrian Von Ziegler's Atmosphere track while reading this :) |
