A/N Wrote this on my phone...so, some fast edits needed to made. Minor mistakes and a changing a sentence slightly.

Not slash by the way.

Glorfindel bit down on the pen he had in his mouth as he stared at his notes, then back at Erestor. The green-elf sat across from him with his arms crossed and one leg swung over the other. By Erestor's expression he seemed calm and not irritated by the scrutiny. Glorfindel hummed thoughtfully and wrote this observation down.

"If you are writing "the subject blinked", please stop doing so and write something more worthwhile." Erestor requested evenly.

"No, I am not writing that," Glorfindel reassured. "I am writing "Erestor blinked" instead."

Erestor blinked for real this time and stared at the golden head. He did not dwell on it for long and exhaled softly.

Glorfindel hummed again as he looked over his notes. "Well, I am not finding anything different or new to this study."

"Have you taken it into consideration that this goes away in time?" Erestor thought to remind him.

"Well, you claimed it feels like a parasite is pinching your skin, so-"

"A parasite that goes away in due time, Glorfindel." Erestor maintained a calm voice. In all honesty, while he was weary, he was not annoyed. He enjoyed indulging Glorfindel this one time, even though the questions were starting to become redundant.

Erestor and Tathardes recently came back from spending a year in Greenwoood with their family. Glorfindel felt lonely when they initially left, but he was cheerful again not long after. It is not that anything bad happens to the two green-elves when they went on these trips: for family or diplomatic reasons. But something always happens to Erestor whenever they were away for too long.

Green, swirling markings surrounded his eyes and trailed along the sides of his face. When they were gone for a really long time, the markings sometimes adorned his hands too. This was one if those occasions.

"It is the crest of royalty: a sign that Greenwood recognizes you as a part of the family." Erestor explained with some amount of embarassment the first time he came back to Imladris with the marks. At first everyone thought it was a fungal infection, but that got disproved quickly when the crests seemed to be like paint.

When that was cleared, Erestor was kindly teased by the twins and Glorfindel himself. Erestor went along with it, and said that his first order of command was for one of them to stand by the window and let him slap them across the face.

This time, Glorfindel wanted to know why these marks appeared, and wished to conduct a study. Erestor quietly allowed it, knowing he was not expected to get back to work after just returning, and to bond with his old friend.

Erestor only became convinced that there was no hope for Glorfindel ever understanding trees. Even Erestor himself sometimes did not know either.

Glorfindel sighed and set aside the paper. "Alas my friend, I do not know how to cure you from this."

"Being away from trees constantly yelling at you with adoration is enough of a cure, thank you." Erestor proceeded to stand up, "I need to get some clay on me so I will not get anymore comments about this."

Glorfindel grinned. "Thank you for your time, master Erestor, and I will see you at your next appointment tomorrow."

Erestor stayed in place for a moment longer. Eventually, a smirk crept onto his features. "This is what happens when we are bored, yes?"

"Yes, yes indeed."
