This is the third story of the series I have written as a could-have-been four-parts finale for the show (following Gilberto Risendo's death), and the developments in it might make little sense without reading the one titled The New Doctor. What would Victoria's thoughts be if Diego did indeed get involved with another woman? This story examines Victoria's feelings re: the possibility of Diego having a romance with another, unknown, woman, as mentioned in a scene from the NWZ episode "Sanctuary". She realizes that somehow, in the intervening years, her feelings for Diego have developed into more than friendship.

NWZ Two months after Alcalde De Soto shot Emissary Risendo (nee Gilberto de la Vega) to save Don Diego's life, De Soto starts to suspect that Diego could be Zorro. Attempting to dissuade the Alcalde, Diego decides to tell everyone he is going to Mexico to visit friends but only goes to San Pedro to book passage on a ship he never boards. The ship sinks & Diego is believed dead.

FAM Zorro. This starts off with the same basic premise as the episode "One Special Night" but the focus is on the meeting with the emissary not the night spent in the windmill (which does not happen in my version). This is a reveal story.

He gets a little help from unexpected quarters and learns that there is safety in numbers.

NWZ: Rewrite of New Lease on Love. What happens when the dream is no longer enough? What happens when the woman who means everything to you has different dreams? The matchmaker makes Diego and Victoria take a hard look at reality vs fantasy. This story is at a stopping point, but probably won't be finished until summer. I'm sorry :(

NW Zorro. Victoria wants to get married, but when Diego starts to court her, it doesn't go as expected. Just a short revelation story.

NWZ: Epilogue to Wicked, Wicked Zorro. In this episode, Diego is hypnotized and Zorro robs Victoria's tavern. In the end she forgives him and kisses him-after he pushed her around and stole her money. I don't think she'd be as forgiving. This is my rewrite of the final scene. Not really like my other stories, but I guess my mood is darker now!

NWZ: Remember when Victoria fainted when Alejandro was unmasked as Zorro in Like Father, Like Son? What happened next? Simple reveal happily ever after, two chapters, less than 4000 words.
