Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter. Hey! My name is Steely Charm :) I am Australian, (which is why I update at seemingly really weird times!), and I discovered this site nearly three months ago, now (it's the 18th of the 7th, 2013). And, to tell you the truth, I only discovered actual fan fiction three months ago too. I know, right? Oblivious, I was. I knew fan fiction was out there, I just didn't feel the need to read it. But now, ever since I have become addicted to Sherlock Holmes on BBC, and discovered that their is no ship like 'Wolfstar', I have come to the conclusion that fan fiction (some of it, at least) is AMAZING. Sherlock Holmes (BBC's version): Incredible, wonderful, drool-worthy (have you SEEN those cheekbones?). John and Sherlock are just (squeal!) perfect and sweet. Johnlock is still a bit iffy with me, but I have read some good fics based around it, and have really enjoyed them. Mainly, Sherlock and John just have to be in character, and not too OC. MorMor is oh-my-fangirling-god hilarious. Adorable. I love Mycroft (who doesn't) but guys, he doesn't go with Lestrade. I have yet to read anything good centred on those two. I haven't written anything based on Sherlock, but that may yet change. For now I am just absorbing what is already out there. Harry Potter: I didn't, and still don't, really enjoy the 'next generation' stuff, but I was/am hooked to all of the fiction about the Marauders. Eventually I decided I had to write my own, and it had to be about Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, because they were the stars of the first Harry Potter story I read on this site and that story was amazing. It opened me up to a whole new world, and now I ship WOLFSTAR so hard it hurts. So, yes, that is esstientially me in a nutshell; I am a BIGHUGEGIANTCOLLOSIALSUPER fan of Harry Potter. I read the Philosopher's Stone in two days, and my favourite characters are Gred and Forge, James, Sirius and Remus. I love twins, and Gred and Forge are beautiful. It is one of my beliefs that too many people overlook James, and too many people disregard the absolute tragedy of the Marauder's story. No doubt I do not do it justice enough, though I try. Personally, while everyone else seems to want J. K Rowling to write a book about the Marauders, if she does, I think I would cry, and not with tears of joy. I like the fact that J. K Rowling has left the Marauders up for interpretation. So now to my works: My first story on here, 'Beginnings at Hogwarts' was only the second fan fiction piece I have ever written (the first was about Ginny Weasley, and that hardly counts since I didn't even know at the time that it WAS fan fiction). 'Beginnings' only took me a month to write, which was a surprise! I had never written anything so long before, so that was a big achievement for me. It's not perfect, far from it, but it was, for quite a while, my whole life. 'Beginnings' is the story of the Marauder's first year at Hogwarts, with close attention to Remus Lupin. The sequel to 'Beginnings', 'Werewolf at Hogwarts', is also about the Marauders, obviously. 'Werewolf' is about the four's second year. We follow Remus as he makes friends, suffers through the full moon, participates in pranks, and learns more than books can teach him. Eventually my plan was that we would see Remus and Sirius' relationship evolve, we would be there when James, Sirius and Peter discovered Remus' secrets... Unfortunately, however, I lost the inspiration and motivation to continue with 'Werewolf'. I am really sorry to those who are following it, have reviewed and favourited it, but I don't know when I will find the time or will to go back to it. For now, I am concentrating on my other fics. 'One Hundred Words to Define Us' was an accident, pure and simple. I wrote this little one hundred word drabble with a prompt I received in a competition, and suddenly I was hooked! I know it has been done countless times before, but it is so much fun writing these, you have no idea! It has become my baby. I adore it, and I love seeing that other people are reading it. If you are one of the ones who have or will check it out, please, tell me what you think, or give me a prompt! Reviews are love My other stories on here, 'Beyond Forever', 'FURIOUS', 'In Aeternum', 'The Amethyst Coloured Explosion' and 'Remorseless' were written for competitions, but that doesn't mean they aren't still very important to me. So please, if you read any one of my stories, review it. A few lines can brighten up my day, and if they contain constructive criticism then that's even better. Please review, I want to make my work as good as it can be. Cookies all around for the lovelies who do review, and have favourited and are following my works. You are awesome. |
