Set immediately post-10.03, so spoilers for Soul Survivor. It's eight days before they actually speak to each other again. A mysteriously appearing marker board isn't the usual way of apologizing for a colossal screw-up like theirs; but then again, they are Men of Letters.

How did Marty Deeks become the wise-cracking, empathetic, gentle, strong man he is with the uncanny ability to connect with children? This story follows him from childhood to when he accepted the liaison position with NCIS. It's focused mainly on Deeks but Hetty does make appearances.

Deeks and the team go undercover during military exercises to uncover the people behind the theft of high grade military weapons and drones. There is tension between Deeks and Callen that plays out during the dangerous operation. This was a collaborative effort by five writers who added their own unique creativity to a different chapter of the story as it was passed along.

"He just wouldn't be Marty Deeks if he didn't try some ridiculously daring move under the guise of saving them all the messy paperwork that she supposed would come if she splattered on the pavement. Deeks doesn't like to talk about his past. It has never been a pleasant topic for him. Instead, he does his best to seem as straightforward of a guy as possible. But with Hetty only serving to add to his team's curiosity and the calls of his conscience, secrets are bound to come out. Now a two-shot!

Somehow, after the showdown with Hetty, Nell had been sidelined alongside Deeks, both forbidden from working on the case, and both ordered to rest.-Not romantic, mentions of possible Nell/Eric.

Tony wakes up feeling like crap and finds himself longing for the times he lived alone and it was a lot easier to get a simple cup of coffee.

Pain scales are good, except when they aren't. Hurt!Sam, hurt!Dean, some humor, and some angst.
