The title gave me pause...but I was desperate for a new NCIS LA story to read and I do love the stories with a Deeks and Callen friendship...so I gave it a whirl...so very glad I did, too. I absolutely loved it! Great job!

This is brilliant! Hands down perfect in every way - so much so that I've finally stopped 'lurking' and leaving the odd guest review and signed up properly. Congratulations on being the one responsible!

I love that both Deeks and Callen have such happy memories of a) what was essentially such a shitty childhood for them and b) that the impression they left on the other from just a couple of very short weeks was so profound that it stuck with them through all the hard times. Those memories could so easily have been buried and lost under the beatings and misery.

I also love that Sam (bless him!) sleeps through this beautiful intimate moment between them and that Kensi is too grumpy to stay and listen; it would've totally changed the energy and intimacy and I have the feeling that there would've been some Deeks teasing going on leading Callen to not speak and to hide his memories from them.
Deeks being so stunned and unintentionally recalling how nice Callen was just made me 'aww', as did Callen's "I guess the little goof grew up". You finished it off perfectly with Callen's thoughts and I finished reading with a big smile on my face.

Thank you for writing this - I'm totally taking this as canon now btw.

Some people might think this coincidence you put into your lovely story is too far fetched (to which you would probably say "fiction") but life contains many such coincidences even more improbable. I have experienced several in my own life so outrageous that I have doubted the veracity of the fact there are 7 billion humans on Earth. If so, how am I meeting the same 2 or 3 on airplanes all the time? Or in hotels all across the world?

Your gorgeous heartfelt portrayals of Marty and Callen are as clear to my mind's eye as a painting. These are creations it is possible to love, Marty in particular. Thank you for not telling us if anything bad happened to the superhero. I love the idea of him in the snow globe.
