Akiko is a tough girl who can come across as cold-hearted sometimes. First impressions are not always accurate, though, and this is especially so in Akiko's case. She's actually quite compassionate, but she doesn't like whiners. If someone is extremely upset over something she views as either ridiculous (a weeks-old breakup) or entirely their fault (failing a test because they forgot to study), she tells them to grow up. However, when there is a serious problem, she will offer to help, no matter how awkward she feels listening to the problems of others. She likes animals but prefers those that are not usually considered cute, tending to favor reptiles especially. When it comes to her friends, she is insanely loyal and protective, but she tends to insult her closest friends more than anyone else, especially her best friend, Haruko.

Haruko is the opposite of Akiko in just about every way. A flirt, a gossip, and a hopeless romantic, this bubbly girl tends to get herself into quite a bit of trouble. She can be a ditz at times, and she's easily scared, but she stands up for her friends. She doesn't get mad often, but it's a good sign that you've done something wrong if she does get mad at you. Her sense of justice is not nearly as developed as Akiko's, and she sometimes jumps to conclusions without any evidence whatsoever. Because she's so clingy, not a lot of boys like her. In fact, most are somewhat afraid of earning her affections. While she does duel, she's not a very good duelist on her own, usually doing better when she teams up with Akiko or Fuyuko.

Natsuko is Akiko's brother, older by five years. He's a flirt who's rather popular with the ladies, and marriage won't stop his flirtatious ways. He lives life on the wild side, doing all sorts of crazy stunts that often end up with him in jail, much to his family's annoyance. He's used to weird things happening in his life, mostly related to his love of partying, which has left him in some awkward situations. He's not a very responsible guy, and he tends to forget things easily, especially when he's having a good time.

Hair: Blue
Eyes: Yellow
Fuyuko is very quiet and shy, especially around pretty girls. While he secretly likes Haruko, he would never admit that to her face due to how clingy she can be. When Natsuko gets himself into trouble, it's usually Fuyuko who has to find a way to get him out of it due to the fact that the two are best friends. He's used to Natsuko's outrageous behavior, having grown up with him. He comes across as rather mysterious due to his tendency to hide information about himself. While he doesn't usually talk much, he doesn't hesitate to take control of a situation that he feels well-equipped to handle, especially if no one else seems capable of doing so.

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?''

The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.

I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl.

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
