Author's Note: Hey everyone. This idea popped in my head while I was listening to the song "Beauty and the Beast" from the Disney movie. It's just a little one-shot. But I am working on a couple of other stories. If I actually get anywhere on either of them I will post them so keep an eye out. Let me know what you think. If anyone wants to make a real story out of this shoot me a message. xoxo lifeless
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or Beauty and the Beast, Mrs. Honey is named after the teacher in Matilda so I don't own her either.
"Alright kids," Mrs. Honey said, turning the lights back on in the classroom. Her second grade class had just watched Beauty and the Beast. "Time for recess. You can all go outside." The children all jumped up from their mats and ran to the door. As always there was one child left in the room.
Little Harry Potter always spent recess inside curled up in the reading nook instead of playing outside with the other children. He was often bullied by the other children, especially his cousin Dudley.
Mrs. Honey smiled down at him before sitting next to him on the floor. "How did you like the movie Harry?"
"It was great." Harry said shyly. "I don't get to watch movies at the Dursley's."
"I'm glad you liked it. Who was your favorite character?" She asked.
"CHIP!" Harry replied excitedly.
"Really? And why is that?" Mrs. Honey encouraged. Harry rarely spoke to anyone. She had learned the best way to him to talk was to ask lots of questions.
"He sleeps in a cupboard, just like me. Do you think he is a freak too?" Harry asked.
"Harry, Chip is not a freak and neither are you. What do you mean you sleep in a cupboard? Don't you sleep in your bedroom?" Mrs. Honey asked concerned.
"My bedroom is the cupboard under the stairs." Harry whispered.
Now Mrs. Honey was really concerned. Harry was easily the smallest child in the class. She had always been a little worried that things were off at home but never had any proof. Harry was quiet and withdrawn, he never had a real lunch, and she had spotted the occasional bruise on his body. But sleeping in a cupboard, there was no doubting abuse anymore.
Mrs. Honey left Harry to read and went back to her desk. She wrote down Harry's exact words so she would have it when she called child protective services after school.
The next day Mrs. Honey was sitting in her classroom before her students arrived. There was a knock on her door. She looked up to see a tall elderly man with long white hair and a beard in gray slacks and a purple button down shirt.
"Hello. I am Albus Dumbledore from CPS." He said shaking her hand. "Could you please tell me what caused you to suspect Harry Potter may be abused?"
Mrs. Honey told him about her conversation with Harry from the day before and the other things she had noticed throughout the year.
Just as Mr. Dumbledore got up to leave he pulled a long stick from his pocket. "I'm sorry my dear. He is safest there." He pointed the sick at her and said "Obliviate."
