MAIN STORY UPDATE SCHEDULE CYCLE:

Metallover's Self Insert Adventure (or, metallover ruins Fire Emblem Awakening)

Blazing Trinity (a loose adaptation/novelization of Fire Emblem Blazing Blade)

Metallover's Self Insert Dark & Metallover's Self Insert Supports update every month over on my (P)atreon as exclusives!

My current profile artwork is fanart of Self-Insert me from the Self Insert Adventure. Thanks to XcelltasticX for drawing me so bad-ass.

Invisible Ties is a full novelisation/adaptation of Fire Emblem's thirteenth instalment, Awakening. Complete as of 2014.

Future's End is an original sequel to Invisible Ties, based in the same universe as Awakening. After the events of Invisible Ties, Robin has opened a school for tacticians in Northern Regna Ferox. When it is attacked by unknown assailants he begins a quest that takes him to the very forsaken future that he and the Shepherds had fought so hard to prevent. Kinda-sorta on hiatus? It's in limbo.

A Song of Dusk and Dawn is an expanded prologue for the fourteenth game in the Fire Emblem series, Fates. Mostly world-building as Prince Corrin travels from Nohr to Hoshido, and begins to question the true meaning of the word 'family'. The story ends at the fateful choice between his adoptive family in Nohr, and his birth family in Hoshido. Finished as of 2017.

Blazing Trinity is a novelization/adaptation of Fire Emblem's seventh installment, Blazing Blade. Still in progress.

Metallover's Self Insert Adventure Book 1 - The Insertening is an experiment that went wildly out of control. This was originally just something I did because I had writer's block. I never intended to turn this into an ongoing series, but here we are. Follows a stylized version of yours truly as he is mysteriously sucked into Fire Emblem Awakening, becoming the protagonist of his very own story! Complete as of 2017.

Metallover's Self Insert Adventure Book 2 - The Redux is the continuation of the adventures of the intrepid Self Insert Ben over the time-skip between the first and second acts of Awakening's story. He starts an army. It's more work than he expected. Hilarity ensues. Complete as of 2019.

Metallover's Self Insert Adventure Book 3 - Blunt Force Trauma is the third part of the Metallover-verse, in which the war with Valm finally kicks off. How will Ben deal with the trials and tribulations of war, while also repairing the damage he's done to his personal relationships? Not very well, apparently. Coming Summer 2020.

Metallover's Self Insert Adventure Dark is a (P)atreon-exclusive story about post-game Ben being sent back to the very beginning of Awakening, with all his knowledge intact, all his training efforts still present, and all his trauma still weighing down on him. He finds a time-travelling Grima, and the pair of them decide "NOPE! WE'RE OUT!" and proceed on their own adventure. (Updates monthly over on my (P)atreon page).

Metallover's Self Insert Supports is a series of short snippets of daily life for the other characters in the Metallover-verse. What goes on behind the closed doors of the Officer's Barracks in Ylisse's Royal Army? What happened to Tharja and Gaius on their trip to Plegia? All these questions and more within! Initially a (P)atreon exclusive, now public for all the world to see! (Updates monthly here, and twice-monthly on my (P)atreon page).

People make a big deal about wanting to know their favorite artists and writers. There's not much I can say, but I can talk about the four most influential things that shaped me the most in my development to the person I am today. SO HERE THEY ARE, in chronological order!

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park's debut album is probably the most influential musical thing I have ever listened to ever. In my life. This was the album that catapulted me from kiddie pop music into rock and metal, and it was a BIG jump. Basically the first time I heard One Step Closer on the radio my life changed from that very moment. My love of rock and metal comes right back to this album. I still have all the old CD singles they released off it somewhere, too. Crawling was the soundtrack to my 2001, and I still sing along to In the End every time I hear it on the radio. I wouldn't call it an essential album for metal lovers to own (see what I did there?), but it was definitely a big turning point for me. RIP Chester. We miss you.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - I mean the original, not the Rebuild. This anime series from the late 90s didn't make its way to the West (or Australia, anyway) until the early 2000s, but it was life-changing for me when I finally watched it. It confused the ever-loving-crap out of twelve year old me. So I started reading psychological papers online to try to understand it. Which just confused me more, so I started Googling pictures of the anime instead. This series not only served as a gateway into the world of the more adult anime out there for me, but also kick-started my own mental development so I could cope with what I was watching. Doesn't really hold up all that well, though, if I'm totally honest... But it was also my first introduction to doujin works and fanfiction; Eva-R was my first and is probably the best, most amazing fanfiction project I've ever seen in my entire life.

Eisenhorn - Dan Abnett - The omibus edition of Abnett's Inquisition stories Xenos, Malleus and Hereticus, this tome is literally responsible for me beginning to write. I read it, I think, in the summer of 2005 after borrowing it from the library. Then I read it again. And again. And bought my own copy and proceeded to read it again. I read it so many times I had to have it re-bound (and it is now in the care of my baby brother). I took my copy to Japan. I took it to Canada. I read the digital version in New Zealand (I was traveling light). It's one of the best novels I've read in my life, if not THE best. The story chronicles the career and downfall of an Imperial Inquisitor in the Warhammer 40k universe, and it's essential reading for anyone who wants to write in the first person perspective. It's also part of an over-arching Inquisition story, with numerous other entries, including a fourth actual Eisenhorn novel, but the original is my favourite.

Fate/stay Night - I was a little reluctant to include this one on the list, honestly, but it makes the cut. While I make no secret that my first VN was Katawa Shoujo, after I played the crap out of it I wanted a new VN to love. So I got sucked in by marketing and bought the blandest, most boring school romance story that is School Days, which honestly put me off the genre for quite some time until someone on a Katawa Shoujo Facebook page started talking about Fate. I gave it a go, playing a bootlegged fan-patched copy. Needless to say I now own two copies and every other game in the series, as well as novels and manga and thousands of dollars of merch. Even though Evangelion was responsible for bringing me to anime, Fate is responsible for bringing me to 'otaku'. Also, as much as Nasu-sensei hates the west, I still love his work. Tsukihime remake 2017 2018 2019 2020! C'mon, Nasu!
