Why I write fanfiction: For me to actually write fanfiction, there have to be two things - I must honestly love a game (i.e. it must be one of my favorites) and I must feel the need to hone my writing skills. The latter slowly wears away, so I update somewhat sporadically.

Antithesis - Okami - Verel, High Overlord of darkness, has slated Nippon for destruction. Can a teenage boy in the form of the dark wolf Shinryu stop a force so destructive even the power of the sun goddess pales against it?

Author's thoughts: Yep. I wanted to do some sort of semi-self insertion, and this is it -- get ready for a wild ride! Antithesis will follow the game's events, but some will be different and new ones will be added. It will diverge from the game's plot at some point... but which? Read to find out! The plot has actually metamorphosed from what I had originally intended for it to be; now it encompasses much more than I ever thought it would. You'll need to have played the game to understand what goes on, because I do skip around a bit.

Reflection: Okami. I honestly didn't think I would ever have the skill to do this game justice, to be honest. It's such an amazing game that I wanted to try and avoid fanfiction about it. But then the idea for Antithesis popped up, and I just couldn't resist. Taking what I learned from The Legend of Midna, I tried to implement changes here and try a few new things. Overall, it's been a good learning experience, and I hope to continue it when I have the time to.

The Legend of Midna: Call of the Twilight - Zelda - Link x Midna - An accident in the Mirror Chamber sends Link back into the Twilight Realm. With the help of Midna, he must overcome a familiar foe and the dark source behind his power...

Author's thoughts: This came about as a direct result of the ending of Twilight Princess. I really wanted to cry at the end when Midna broke the mirror - she never got to finish her sentence and say those three words to Link. This started out as a oneshot (really, I had no intention of adding any main villain in there - that came about after I had finished the first and supposedly only chapter) but grew into a full-fledged story which now will encompass two books. There are references to most of newer Zelda games (i.e. 3D ones) - see if you can spot them all!

Reflection: Well, this story is finally done. To think that it has grown to encompass two tales is a bit surprising, given how it started. When I look back at it, there are many chapters and plot points that I would have changed, had I taken the time to look at the grand scheme of things, but it's in the past now. I've learned a good bit about my own style and writing in general from writing The Legend of Midna, and I hope to put what I've learned in another story.

Ptolemy's Gate: Epilogue - Bartimaeus Trilogy - What could have happened after Bartimaeus had been dismissed...

Author's thoughts: Another bad summary. Seeing a trend here? The idea for this oneshot stemmed from me not liking the end of Ptolemy's Gate. I can't really say much more without spoiling either the book or the story, so read both =P

Song - Okami - Ammy x Issun - Songfic: Unable to express her feelings, Amaterasu writes a song.

Author's thoughts: This is a oneshot that is also my first songfic. It uses the translated English lyrics of the song that plays during the credits of Okami (Reset by Ayaka Hirahara). The first half was easy to write. It's the second half that gave me more trouble than I thought it would. Overall I feel it's a bit rough and could be revised a bit...

A Present for Amaterasu - Okami - Based on Antithesis: It's Christmastime, and Shinryu needs to find a present for Amaterasu. Can a certain Poncle help him?

Author's thoughts: This is pretty much a Christmas oneshot. It is, as of right now, not tied into the Antithesis storyline -- but that could change. Um, well, it's pretty much fluff. I don't write fluff, so this was a change of pace for me. Overall, I feel it turned out well.

To Love A Goddess - Okami - Add-on to Antithesis - Shinryu reflects on what being in love with the sun goddess truly means for him.

Author's thoughts: So this is something I wrote in my spare time... There are a couple of parts I don't like, but overall, I'm satisfied with it. It's more of a reflection for Shinryu than anything else.

Author's thoughts: A piece of crap summary. I can't do justice to the idea for this story without giving away some of the good plot twists. Just know that the main character is NOT Samus, though she probably will appear in later chapters. I'd been toying with the idea of an original hunter with his own origins for a while now, but I never really acted upon it until recently. There just hadn't been enough material on certain subjects in the Metroid universe for me to write a story without Nintendo voiding it later on in the series. This has been discontinued due to lack of plot/inspiration...
