Me?

There's not much to tell, really, just another young woman who (mis)spent her childhood and adolescence dreaming up new adventures for the heroes of her favourite stories, and then realised that she wasn't the only one! I'm a literature student, and have always been fascinated by narrative- how it can seize us, move us, thrill us and even change us in the deepest parts of ourselves. Fanfiction appeals to me in its endless possibilities, the way that it allows characters to live a thousand different lives depending on who's writing them, just like we readers can live thousands of different lives through books.

I love The Lord of the Rings (obviously) and that is currently the only fandom I'm writing for, although I also enjoyed the Harry Potter series and read fanfic for it, so maybe one day, if the muse takes me...

Anyway, at the moment I'm particularly interested in Legolas and Gimli's experiences post-war as they learn of what has happened to their homelands (The War in the North as described in the Appendices). My one-shot 'News' explores the pain of waiting in ignorance to hear if your loved ones are safe, and my recently completed 'Grievous Losses' narrates how they react to eventually receiving that news: 'mixed emotions,' to sum it up succinctly. One day, I'm eventually planning on writing their homecomings, although that's looking like a longer project so don't hold your breath on that one.

Other characters will wander in and out of my head and be written about whether I intend it or not (Elrond and Glorfindel are the worst for that!), so there are various one-shots in various stages of completion too.

Update 11/03/19: I am currently in the clutches of a plot bunny that is encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone a little. It's a rather unusual crossover: Fantastic Beasts and the Silmarillion. I'm aware that the Maglor's redemption fic has become something of a genre, but I've never found one where he ends up in Newt Scamander's suitcase before! If you have any opinions on this, or things you want to see in it, feel free to PM me about it- I will be only too happy to talk about these two wonderful characters and my plans for them! Fear not if you're here for just the LOTR- the one-shots will definitely keep coming while I work on it.
