Author has written 5 stories for One Piece, Hozuki no Reitetsu/鬼灯の冷徹, and Avengers. Hello! I'm a brand-new fan fiction writer who's only gotten into this stuff recently, but so far I'm finding it very rewarding! Right now I'm into Anime and Manga fan fiction (aka One Piece, interns of what I'm writing), but who knows where I'll go. I'll be brutally honest: I'm kind of straight-laced when it comes to fan fiction, both reading and writing- I usually like to read stories about pairs that are canon or implied in the canon. I also love friendship and "nakama"ship pairings and find stories about them more touching than romance, particularly when it involves men (not a fan of Yaoi, shonen-ai or yuri, so don't expect that of me, please). I also tend to like stories that focus on cool or seemingly cold-hearted or gruff characters (men, usually), mostly because I find the emotional explorations of them interesting and I always enjoy reading other peoples' depictions of the "hidden side" and emotions of characters that we usually don't see in the canon. Because of that, I'm kind of a sucker for Hurt/Comfort stories or stuff like that (please don't judge). So far, I've only wrote stories that are meant to focus on some sort of emotional or psychological exploration of characters, or stories based on the idea of "well, if this happens, this is what I think would happen". Or in other words, stories that could possibly happen in the canon and how it would play out. I also try to portray the characters as not-OOC as possible (though with some like Mihawk, that can be very hard). Some of my favorite anime/ manga include: One Piece Dragonball Rurouni Kenshin Fairy Tail Gintama Some character that I enjoy reading stories about are (so that you won't be surprised at the rest of this profile): Zoro (One Piece) Sanji (One Piece) Vegeta (Dragonball Z, etc) Saito Hajime (Rurouni Kenshin) Some pairings that I enjoy reading are: One Piece: Sanji and Zoro Nakamaship Luffy and Zoro nakamaship ZoroxTashigi (romantic) Gintama: Kagurax Sougo (either's good) Dragonball: VegetaxBulma (romantic) GokuxChichi (Romantic) Rurouni Kenshin: SaitoxTokio (romantic, duh!) I also love and respect writers who I think show considerable effort and good writing in their works. I highly recommend stories by Velkyn Karma (I've only read almost all of his/her One Piece stories), an excellent writer who I find capable of staying true to the characters' personalities while depicting them in dark or other kinds of stories that are clearly well thought out and well-written. Examples that I recommend are: Mindshattered, along with its spinoffs The Panaceam Report and Espionage (found in another group of stories, Thirty Tales of a Swordsman), which depicts Sanji and Nami finding Zoro nearly starved and tortured to death in a castle cell on an island, and Sanji tries to help Zoro recover mentally and physically form the ordeal. In the meantime, the crew is threatened by the possibility of the one who did that to him finding them and doing the same to them. Comments: ONE OF THE BEST FICS I HAVE EVER READ. It's gritty, but the characters' personalities on on point. Thirty Tales of a Swordsman- Stories that center on Zoro (yes, I love Zoro). I particularly recommend Sing Along from that collection. Shedding Season Watch Your Back Other stories I recommend are: One Piece Guarding the Guardian, by Saravi Boo - another Sanji and Zoro nakamaship fic that I find well written and true to character. Law and Disorder, by SUITELIFEFAN - regarding the relationship between Law and the other Straw Hats Check my favorites page if you want to see more! Announcement: As not many people seemed very interested in Bitterness and Humiliation, and since I lost interest in the story, I decided to take it down. I'm sorry for those who did like it. If you wish me to put it up again, please tell me, but I'm not sure if I will update it any further. Please accept my apologies. |
