To all my faithful readers of several years, to those who have just recently discovered my work, and to those who stumble upon this page quite by accident: I owe each and every single one of you a heart-felt apology, but let it be known that as of today, the 3rd of May, 2013, I’ve deleted all of my work on Fanfiction.Net. And that being said, I owe you the explanation. When I last took to my keyboard and typed the very last chapter of the last story I would ever update, I should have been honest with you all and told you that my Muse was dying. No. it wouldn’t be correct to say that my Muse was dying. She was slowly becoming lost to me in the Sands of treacherous Time. I was maturing. She could not. Understand that for me, writing has always been a very self-involved process. The worlds I made, I lived in them, breathed in them. But there was always a coating, a waxy shine that came from my Muse, the gloss with which I confidently laid bare to you all the thoughts and ideals, the workings of every single mind, the speeches from every single pair of lips, the gazes from every single pair of eyes. The gloss ran out, and I could not continue. I regret to say that it has become necessary for me to officially close the chapter on my otherwise beautiful stay in the fandoms I am leaving. I cannot go back to where there is nothing anymore for me and life, as it must, beckons me to go on. I’ve finally started working on an original manuscript and am in hopes that it will one day be as well-received as the writings of what amount to most of my teen years once were. I thank all my readers, all who faithfully returned for months-late updates, all who appeared in the last few months and still found something to enjoy in my old works. For those who have saved copies of my fanfiction, posted them on other sites, or otherwise kept, translated, or redistributed them, I would like to request you to email me. If my work has been published on other sites, I’d like to request that they be taken down. If printed copies exist – or digital copies saved off the internet, they are my gift to my dear former readers, souvenirs of a happy time between yourselves and this old fanficiton writer. Again, thank you so much for your readership. |
