Disaster strikes when Admiral Nelson and a fellow scientist's expedition flight over the vast Amazon jungle suddenly goes wrong. The way home is far, and it will take all Harry's survival skills, as well as some extra help from Lee Crane to bring them all home.

When McCoy is temporarily assigned to an all-Vulcan ship, he learns some things about himself, Spock, and Vulcans that enable him to grow and change and become a better man. In McCoy's absence, Spock comes to appreciate the doctor more and to better understand that his function on the Enterprise is not limited to his work as a physician. (Friendship only.) Tennek, a Vulcan scientist whose team studied the Human-Vulcan hybrid Spock as a child, comes aboard the Enterprise to continue the study. This brings up questions of ethics, medical consent and trauma as Spock tries to balance a personal wish for integrity with his feeling of duty. McCoy and Kirk do their best to help.

Lee's first week at NIMR is full of adjustments as everyone gets to know Seaview's new captain; but they may not be prepared for everything they learn about Captain Crane.

McCoy wants to know what Kirk saw in Spock's mind when Spock mind-melded with Kirk at the end of "The Paradise Syndrome" — does the Vulcan feel, or doesn't he? Kirk won't tell, but he does give McCoy a rather large hint. (Although I sometimes write BDSM, there's none in this story; the "chain" in the title has nothing to do with kinky sex. :-D) Friendship only.

Is there an explanation for Nyota's Vulcan like mind and her clan's unusual characteristics?

At the wake for Captain Sparrow, Starfleet Academy's furriest officer, Uhura hears surprising information about Spock's cadet years. This story continues Hopefuladdict's series including "In Memoriam" and the "Tales of Captain Sparrow," a collection written by Hopefuladdict and me. VickieFromGreece joined in with, "This is All Your Fault". These authors are in my favorites.

Everything he tried to help control his grief was pointless. There was only one thing that helped. It always allowed him to forget, at least for a short time. However, Spock was starting to feel that he was using the woman he loved in a way no Vulcan would have ever approved.
