Author has written 46 stories for Scooby Doo, Hanna-Barbera, Cartoon X-overs, Radio Dramas, House on Haunted Hill, and Danny Phantom. Hey everybody, my pen name(or username if you prefer) here at Fan is Scoobyfan1(why I chose it I have no idea, other then i'm a huge Scooby Doo fan, as you might have guessed). I have been a Scooby Doo fan since around 1996. I started writing Scooby Doo Fan Fiction in October 2008, after watching the Direct-To-DVD movie Scooby Doo and the Goblin King, I had an idea for a Scooby Doo Fan Fiction series called the Mystery Morphs. To be totally honest, there were a few things I didn't like about the movie and I figured I could do a better job coming up with plots and writing a storyline then the writers of most Scooby Doo movies and TV series(like Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get A Clue, which if I may be honest, stunk up the joint something fierce... at least in my opinion). Also, I put this disclaimer at the beginning of each story I write, but I might as well put it here too: Scooby Doo and all related characters and trademarks are copyright 1969-2002 Hanna-Barbera Productions, and 2003-present Warner Brothers/Cartoon Network. I do not own the characters and I am just writing these for fun. For the most part my Scooby Doo fan fics are pretty much various ideas that I have come up with although various other authors here and people from various message boards have inspired me to write a few stories as well(You know who you are and thank you for all your help :) I think writing Fan Fiction is a really fun hobby and just like watching Scooby Doo on TV, it's a nice escape from real life and the current news every once in a while. Also, I guess a lot of people that have accounts on or write fan fiction are female(or I guess that's the assumption; it may or may not be true, I don't know). However, I am not female, I am a guy; which I guess makes me one of the few male fan members I suppose, or maybe not :) My favorite sports teams: NFL-Seattle Seahawks Also believe it or not I am in my twenties and I love oldies music(60's/70's/80's generally, although I do enjoy some songs from the 50's and 90's-present); I don't really have a favorite artist or band or group although I do like the big names(Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, The Beatles, Chicago, The Beach Boys, The Eagles, etc.). Also(and this might seem a little weird to some people), I really enjoy listening to classic radio airchecks from the 60's through the 80's(I have an Ipod Touch full of ones that I downloaded from the web), they're actually pretty cool and really fun to listen to; it's kind of like listening to a time capsule of a certain era and certain market/city(like Seattle-Tacoma, those ones are probably my favorites). Also I am writing a story featuring characters from the radio series Kincaid The Strange-Seeker, all the characters and trademarks from that series are copyright 2016 Jim French Productions. Here's the background on Kincaid the Strange-Seeker: he was created by Seattle, Washington area radio producer and former radio talk show host Jim French, the show began airing in 1996 on KIRO 710 in Seattle, WA; since then the show has aired on KNWX and KIXI radio in Seattle, WA. The plot of the show is that it tells about Michael Kincaid who hosts his own television show called Kincaid The Strange-Seeker for a fictional Washington D.C. based cable tv channel called The Investiagtive Channel or the IC for short. Michael's boss Randall Bigelow is currently played by Richard Sanders(most notably known as playing Les Nessman on the TV series WKRP in Cincinatti). He basically investigates stories similar to the mysteries that Scooby and company encounter, that is basically supernatural, weird or strange stories like ones with ghosts, ghouls, aliens, time travel and that kind of thing. Although as of the end of the episode, called "The Beginning of the Beginning", Kincaid, his boss and his camera person Shelly Mars are all employed by Meskatonic(I hope I spelled that right) University. The episode is available for purchase via download at the Imagination Theater website(and possibly on CD as well, although you would have to look that up on the website, as i'm not certain about CD availablity), as are the Imagination Theaters from the last couple of weeks. The website is Harry (check it out if you like the older radio shows and dramas from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, as i've heard many of the Imagination Theater shows before, and they are awesome; I highly reccomend them). I am also writing a story that features characters from the radio series The Adventures of Harry Nile as well, here's the background on Harry: he is a private detective/former Chicago police officer who has worked in Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle and was created by Seattle, Washington area radio producer and former radio talk show host Jim French in 1976. The show started as part of the anthology series Crisis which aired on KVI Seattle, it aired there for a couple of years before being canceled when the station switched formats from sort of what would currently be called an Adult Standards format, to sort of a News/Talk station. The show returned in 1990 on KIRO Radio in Seattle and then was nationally syndicated as part of the program Imagination Theatre(like Kincaid The Strange Seeker) in 1996; since then the show has aired on KNWX and KIXI radio in Seattle; also the shows currently air on Sirius XM Sateliite Radio's every so often. Also, I like and enjoy writing at my own pace, so if I don't update my stories for weeks/months/years/decades(just kidding about the decades part), then you'll know why. By the way, just to let anyone who is interested know, in case anything happens to any of my stories here(whether they disappear from this site or whatever), rest assured they are available on my Fictionpad account. My username or penname there is Scoobyfan1969(in case you want to search for my works there); notice also that my account name there is a little different then my username/penname here, but also a little different. Favorite Pairings(whether they be in fan fics, or whatever): Scooby Doo: Fred/Daphne: These two are literally perfect for each other; Fred being the all american guy, handsome, strong and a great athlete(too bad he's fictional, because I would love to have Fred for a friend, partly because he seems so athletic and is a big sports fan). While Daphne is the All American girl, wealthy, beautiful, pretty much the type of girl that any guy would fall over themselves trying to impress(actually she is pretty cute, so if she was real I wouldn't mind hanging out with her). Shaggy/Velma: Not as good as Fred/Daphne, but still a good pairing nonethless. The current Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated series has soured a few people on this pairing, but after the two of them got along so well, and actually held hands and danced together a few times in the original Scooby Doo Where Are You series, I think the two of them still belong together. Velma's pretty intelligent, but she's polite, gentle, and someone who I see caring for animals a lot, while Shaggy is gentle, kind(despite his cowardice) and a good person with animals, like Scooby Doo. So it's easy to see why Shaggy and Velma belong together. Shaggy/Daphne: While this pairing was only explored in the 1983-1985 Scooby seasons, it's a good pairing that never got much of a chance to get off the ground. As mentioned by other people, Shaggy and Daphne were LIVING TOGETHER during the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo(as seen in the episode That's Monstertainment), so to paraphrase the old saying: Give Shaphne a Chance. Shaggy/Madelyn: This pairing is lower on the rung then Shaggy & Daphne because it was only explored in one movie(Abracadabra Doo), however in that movie Shaggy and Madelyn are shown truly caring for each other and yes possibly loving each other, so it works. Flim Flam/Madelyn: Totally out of left field for this one, but one i'm exploring in my fan fic "Quest of the Chest". Flim Flam and Madelyn both have qualities that make them perfect for each other; Flim Flam is a bit of a trickster, and can do magic and seemingly get himself out of any situation. While Madelyn does know magic(stage magic) and could probably be a nice companion for Flim Flam; of course their ages would have to be the same(as they are in my fan fic). OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. The white man said, "Coloured people are not allowed here." The black man turned around and stood up. He then said: "Listen, sir...when I was born I was BLACK, when I grew up I was BLACK, when I'm sick I'm BLACK, when I go in the sun I'm BLACK, when I'm cold I'm BLACK, when I die I'll be BLACK. But you, sir, when you're born you're PINK, when you grow up you're WHITE, when you're sick, you're GREEN, when you go in the sun you turn RED, when you're cold you turn BLUE, and when you die you turn PURPLE. And you have the nerve to call me coloured?" The black man then sat back down and the white man walked away... I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a cashier hand this little boy some money back. The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The cashier said, "I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll." Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?'' The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.'' Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. "It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her." I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her afterall, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.'' My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall." Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me "I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me. I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister." Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. "Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?'' "OK," he said, "I hope I do have enough." I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said: "Thank you God for giving me enough money!" Then he looked at me and added, "I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me!'' "I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.'' "My mommy loves white roses." A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him. Now you have 2 choices: 1) Repost this message. 2) Ignore it as if it never touched your heart Repost this is you truly believe in God... P.S. A teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her." Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98 of teenagers will not stand up for God? He asked the men who were there to stand up and they did. There were twenty six. The same amount of guards the man said he had. First, I blocked a user here on (I will not mention who), because I didn't like how that person referred to SDMI(Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated) and how that person liked the Shaggy/Daphne pairing. At the time, I said some things to that person that I now regret, and that I wish I could take back, but I cannot. Herego, the only way to make it up to this person is to unblock them; as a Scooby Doo fan, I should be a fan of every era of Scooby Doo, no matter how bad it was, or no matter if it featured a different pairing or whatever. Everyone has their own opinions about SDMI and about the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo series and about the Shaggy/Daphne pairing, and I respect those opinions, in the same way that others respect my Scooby opinions, even though some people may not like them. In addition, I have deleted reviews of my fan fics because they were dumb, or they didn't adhere to my opinions about Scooby. At this time, I will also cease doing that; everyone is welcome as always to give any opinion they wish of my fan fics, no matter if it's constructive, or if they don't like the story. I say this because even some of the greatest authors of all time had their work criticized at one time or another; in addition, many popular movies and TV shows were panned by critics because the critics didn't like the shows or movies, but the shows or movies turned out to be very popular with fan and were(and still are) fondly remembered. To make a long story short: I have done some stupid things here, and I wholeheartedly and completely apologize for all of them. Please continue to read my stories, review them and all of that :) In addition to what I mentioned above, the days that I deleted those reviews and blocked the person I blocked were days when I was in a bit of a foul mood and I was angry, and unfortuntely I turned that anger into blocking someone and deleting reviews of my fan fics. I would also like to wholeheartedly apologize for that as well. To be honest, there are days when I haven't been in the best of moods, and I have taken it out on people that were only trying to be nice to me and help me with things. I would also like to wholeheartedly and completely apologize for that as well. In addition I would like to apologize to anyone I may have offended, to anyone I may have said anything bad to since I joined Fan or to anyone who's opinion I did not like or whose story I did not like, or anything of that nature. Thank you to everyone who reads this and I promise I will be kinder and gentler in the future. In addition, I will still be writing fan fics, and I am open to any advice, whether it be good or bad. (August 22, 2012): I updated another portion of my profile with this information, and I am updating my main profile with it as well. I wanted to let all my watchers and people who like reading my stories know that I am now opening them up for Beta Readers. If anyone wants to send me a PM or an e-mail or talk to me with advice on improving my stories, or if any one wants to be a beta reader for any of them, I would be more then happy to accept you as a beta reader or any advice you might have. After all, i'm a nice guy in regards to fan fiction, and I don't bite :) Just wanted to bring what I mentioned up for everybody. (January 6, 2013): This is not a happy update unfortunately. A few days ago, I found out that Fan member thartman1956 passed away via a post on his Facebook page made by one of his relatives. The post mentioned that he passed on January 4th it looks like; for those who knew him and would like to post a rememberance of him, or share a memory of him, you can post it on his facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/#!/thomas.hartman.980?fref=ts I only knew him for a few short years, through here, Deviant Art, and through the Velma Dinkley and USCFL yahoo groups, which he participated in on a regular basis. But during the time I knew him online, I got to learn that he liked Scooby Doo, and trains as well as the Disney series Kim Possible. While I only shared one of his interests(Scooby Doo), and didn't really watch much of Kim Possible, he and the other members of the Velma Dinkley Yahoo Group and the USCFL yahoo group and website were great online friends. They listened when I wanted to share what was going on in my life, or a new fan fic I was planning, and I listened when they shared their lives with me. All in all, it was a very close knit group, and a great group at that. Now that i've found out one of them has passed away, it's going to be different going forward whenever i'm online. I'll never get to chat with Thomas about Scooby, or Kim Possible, or other cartoons, or whatever's going on in the world again, and for that I am saddened and disappointed. But for all the things that he and the other members of the Velma yahoo group and the USCFL yahoo group have done for me in the past, I salute him, and I say god bless you Thomas, you will be missed here, on Deviant Art and at the Velma Dinkley and USCFL groups for a long time to come. Thank you Thomas, and R.I.P. Also, as an addendum I have decided to put a note in the next fan fic chapter I finish similar to this, and I will dedicate the next fan fic I write to him as well, as the few fan fics he wrote were very good, and writers like him were the big reason I got started in the fan fiction world and why I continue to write stories for this site and other sites. September 24, 2013(And unfortunately, this is not a good update): A message from dracohalo117 and Leaf Ranger...SOPA is back, that is right people, the bill that is threatening to take away our freedoms on the internet and beyond is BACK, and not only is it back, but it is trying to be passed quietly so nobody notices, SOPA will guarantee that anybody who streams a video, whether it be on youtube, a walkthrough for a video game, or a kid singing a song that is 'copyrighted' they will be treated as a felon, that is right, a FELON, do you understand me? YOU will be treated like the highest form of criminal for uploading a video game walkthrough on youtube, for singing a song on karaoke, hell, you could be arrested and treated as a felon for posting a screenshot... Now, why am I telling you this? Because this is only just the beginning, how long until Fanfiction is being attacked, how long until a fanfiction writer is being carted off to a maximum state prison for writing a character from Naruto into their fanfic, or a character from Bleach, or a character fro Sekirei or Seikon no Qwaser, Highschool DxD, Trinity Blood, Witchblade, how long until THAT crap is happening? I assure you that if this passes, it will not be long, oh no, it will not be long at all, because once this passes, then ANYTHING goes, Fanfiction will be attacked for using canon characters in a fanon manner, authors will be arrested for writing a book whose main character has glasses, just like in another series, artists will be arrested and confined for using sapphire blue in the iris of one of their characters like another author. We CANNOT let this happen! Don't believe us? Look at the links below, remove the spaces, see for yourself, and please, PLEASE spread the word and fight this assault on our freedoms, because this isn't just going to affect americans, oh no, it will affect EVERYBODY across the globe! : / www . huffingtonpost 2013/08/07/unauthorized-streaming-felony_n_3720479 . html : / www . washingtonpost blogs/the-switch/wp/2013/08/05/sopa-died-in-2012-b ut-obama-administration-wants-to-revive-part-of-it / : / www . techdirt articles/20130805/12472124074/administration-cant- let-go-wants-to-bring-back-felony-streaming-provisions-sopa . shtml and the video which caused us to find out about this horrible thing...remove the spaces, and spread the word... : / www . youtube watch?v=1fTt4K4Cae4 POST THIS MESSAGE AS AN UPDATE TO EACH OF YOUR FICS! PM EVERY AUTHOR YOU'VE EVER TALKED TO AND TELL THEM THE MESSAGE! TELL ALL YOUR OFFLINE FRIENDS AND FB FRIENDS! SPREAD THE WORD FAR AND WIDE! Update(October 20, 2013): I found out a little while ago, earlier this afternoon(as it's still afternoon while I type this) that Don James passed away. As a major sports fan of every one of the local Seattle teams(as i've mentioned here before), Don was one of the sports figures that I remember quite a bit from my early years; for those who don't know, Don was the head coach of the University of Washington football team in the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s before stepping down prior to the 1993 football season. For anyone who is of my age, or anyone older who lives in Seattle or the surrounding areas, or anyone who was and still is a UW fan or alum, you share the thought that Don James was one of the greatest head coaches in the history of the Pac 10(now Pac 12) Conference, and an argument could be made that he is one of the greatest, possibly the greatest college football head coaches of the last 40-50 years; sure, the argument could be made for names like Bowden, Bryant, Paterno, Erickson, Johnson, McKay and others, but to UW fans, alums and everyone who was associated with the UW program during the time he coached, Don James is the greatest head coach in college football history. God bless you Don James, for being such a fantastic head coach, and for being someone who meant a lot to a lot of Husky fans and alums worldwide; R.I.P. Don, you will always be THE Dawgfather. Update(June 28, 2014): So, a while back I mentioned I was going to rewrite my version of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo as a fan fiction series, and that I was going to make it darker, and include more horror and all that stuff. Well, a few days ago I decided i'm still going to do it but not here. I'll still update that series of stories here, but if you would like to see the new and improved 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo fan fiction series(written by me), it will not be posted here. Update(January 20, 2015): I just wanted to let everyone who follows me and reads my stories(and reviews them) that I am still writing and will still finish every story i've started; when that will be I have no idea. Also, I wanted to let everyone who follows me or has my stories on story alert or reads and reviews my stories that I am planning on updating some of them; mainly because I thought of a few plotlines and some dialogue that would fit in some of them. Even though I am going to update my stories, I am going to keep each and every one of them on here and I will not be deleting anything; I'm doing this mainly because there are a lot of stories i've liked over the years on here that have been deleted because they weren't that good in the minds of the authors or the author just left the site, etc. I will not be doing this as I really hate to leave my readers hanging like that; anyway, thank you to everyone for being so patient with me, and I hope all of you will continue to keep your eyes on my account here as the stories will continue for quite some time to come. Update(April 23, 2015): Man, I haven't updated this for a while, so I guess I should update it more often huh? In any case, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still writing fan fiction and will still post my works online; the main part of this update basically is I wanted to share a decision I made in regards to one of my stories. In my fan fic Meddling, 21st Century Style I introduced a new group of teen sleuths to take over where Mystery Inc. left off. I am also going to do a series of fan fics with these characters as well, which is where the decision comes in that I made; originally I was just going to remake every Scooby Doo Where Are You? episode as fan fics with the new teen sleuthing team I created... however, I had a thought to do something better and different. Basically I have decided that this series of fics with the new characters will be a series of completely new mystery stories, with completely new mysteries/cases with new ghosts, monsters and villains for the new Mystery Inc. to track down. These stories will be inspired by the original Scooby Doo Where Are You? TV series, in that there will be the same danger, the same mystery, the same humor and so forth, but they will be entirely new works. I made this decision mainly because at least to me the idea of a new Mystery Inc. solving new mysteries with new villains and monsters/ghosts sounds better then just rehashes of old stories, sort of a new beginning for a franchise that a lot of people enjoy and have enjoyed since 1969. |
