Hi, I'm Emma. Em for short if you like. Traveller - I have goals to travel everywhere. I'm quite fond of good stories but good is subjective. I adore Pansy Parkinson. Dramione Actually been dabbling in some Twilight fanfiction and I haven't decided how I feel about it. Alice isn't much better. Therefore, as far as Twilight is concerned, I'll stick with any story in which Edward and Alice are dead. The lack of good Jasper and Bella stories is disconcerting. MBTI: ISTP If I've taken the time to read your works, I shall probably leave a review, but I cannot promise it will always be a glowing recommendation. I find honesty is a much better policy, even if the truth can be painful. Pet Peeve: All right, here it is. Research. It is a beautiful thing. If, as a writer, you're going to touch on delicate subjects such as but not limited to domestic abuse, PTSD, miscarriage, death, have the bloody decency to research it properly. Properly is the keyword. Properly isn't relying on what a friend of a friend told you. It's putting on your big girl or boy knickers and utilising the internet that is available at your fingertips. Also, you can't have it both ways. Either you did the research or you didn't because "it's just fiction, it doesn't need to be accurate", which bullshit by the way. Yes, this is fanfiction but if you can't be bothered to put forth your best effort, you've lost the right to whine and complain when someone points out the blatantly obvious errors. It's offensive to the writers who give their best, their all. I refuse to shower you in false praise. I refuse to applaud your laziness. I also refuse to apologise. My mate warned me fanfiction was shark-infested waters, entitled writers, and people who refused to accept anything less than the vomitously false narrative of only praise. I didn't believe her. I should have. Cheers |
