![]() Author has written 36 stories for Yu Yu Hakusho, Fushigi Yuugi, Saiyuki, Gravitation, Gundam Wing/AC, Inuyasha, Weiss Kreuz, and Naruto. Current manga addictions: Hands Off, Angel Sactuary, Fruits Basket, DNAngel, Immortal Rain, Descendents of Darkness, Ceres, Legal Drug,Get Backers, Tactics and xxxHolic Wow.That's a lot. Never saw it listed like that before. No wonder I'm broke! I was told that anime/manga was an addiction worse than crack, smoking and drinking combined but I didn't I believe! Alas...it is too late for me. And something tells me it is too late for you too my friend. Ahem. "Hello. My name is MangaMamma, and I am an anime/manga addict." Favorite Anime: Saiyuki (not so much a fan of Reloaded. Voice talent sucks!), Gundum Wing, Trigun, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, Fushigi Yuugi,Weiss, Mirage of Blaze,Samurai Deeper Kyo, Samurai 7 and Kyo Kara Maoh I just joined FanFiction so I don't have too much more to share right now. But as I post more stories and get reviews I'm sure I'll have plenty more to say. Reviews are welcomed and desired. I'm rather partial to favorable, encouraging and/or constructive reviews as opposed to contrite 'you suck' statements, but hey, everyone has their own style of writing, right? Later people! 6/11/05 - I'd just like to thank everyone who has read and/or reviewed my stories. I really wasn't sure how well they would be received. Just because I like them, does't mean anyone else has to, right? Anyway, you guys and gals have been great! Thanks! My next few projects are very long term, but they will be updated regularly. I made sure to finish, or come very close to finishing them before I started posting so I wouldn't leave anyone hanging. It drives me crazy when I start reading a good story and then I'm forced to wait weeks or (gasp!) months for an update. Like I said, I'm an addict. The two long term story arcs are YYH and Inu-yasha based. The first story is currently posted for each: Of Youkai and Mystics and The Nisou and the Wolf. Each is the first in a trilogy. Hope they're received wellenough for the full trilogies to be posted. I'm rather proud of them. I have a question for everyone out there: Does anyone else have a hard time deciding on titles for these things! Later kiddies! 7/11/05 - I have yet another trilogy in the works. It's for DBZ. I just love Vegeta so much! I'm going to apologize now for not being able to update weekly. I'm going to try like hell to keep posting at least once a week on all my active stories, but LIFE and WORK aren't cooperating. So please hang in there if I take more than a week. I PROMISE I won't let a story go for more than two weeks. I've been a bad girl lately and picked up some new manga titles. My newest addiction is Peacemaker Kurogane. What an awesome book! I've also picked up Arm of Kannon, Cross and Kizuna. Kizuna is a nice addictive book too. Pretty men in love, yakuza, kendo...what's not to love? Ooops! Inu-Yasha is on! Bye! 8/28/05 - Wow, thank you, thank you, thank you! Everyone has been so great with reading and reviewing my stories. I've been trying to make sure to update on a regular basis but work has totally sucked plus it's concert season so I've been a little busy lately. My favorite concert so far this year has been the Reel Big Fish show. It was awesome and exhausting and I managed to stay clear of the mosh pit. Thanks Mark! I'm going to see the Green Day show in a couple of days and I just bought tickets to the Foo Fighters/Weezer show in October. I LOVE going to concerts! Once football season starts I should be able to update more frequently since all I do on Sundays is eat, watch fooball and nap. I'm sure I can type a few chapters here and there during the games. I'm afraid my manga addiction is only getting worse. I picked up Tokyo Babylon, Naruto and Bleach. I bought volume one of each to check them out and once I read them, I just had to find out what happened next so I went out and bought all the issues available. Borders and Amazon freaking love me. Rujutoshi, Caval, Skittles the Sugar Fairy, Thorn, Red Kitsune Flames and Captain Starseeker: You all rock! Thank you so much for your encouraging words, insight and the smiles you bring me! SailorChibi: Where have you gone? 10/08/05 - Argh! Ok, I give up! Work has become beyond busy. I have been working late and on the weekends and I just can't keep up. So I'm sorry to say that updates are going to be coming few and far between until probably sometime in December. I'll leave you with amazingly wonderful words of wisdom I came across recently: "If you can't say something nice, have the decency to be vague." 12/04/05 - Season's Greetings! It would figure as soon as work stuff settled down, that other things would pick up. I'm facing holiday parties, parades, seminars, weddings and the best of all, my cousin is coming home from Hawaii to visit! She's my partner in crime and I miss her so much! I just wanted to give everyone a quick update: I'll be finishing up Checkmate, The Beginning And The End and Comforting Heat within the next month or so. I am deleting Family from the listing because it really hasn't received much of a reception. It saddens me a bit because I really like Ashitare and the ripple effect she had on the YYH gang. Oh well, I'll just keep it for my own personal enjoyment. I thank everyone who read it and especially those who took the time to review. New projects - 2 new stories for Inu-Yasha fans (Brothers and Not So Different), a crossover between YYH and Inu-Yasha (Belonging), a Weiss story involving Yohji and Schuldich (Heart's Truth),a fantasy piece involving the Gundam guys (Dragon Heart) and a new YYH story (No Matter What). As I've previously stated in some of my chapter prologues, I will not post stories until they're finished because I feel so guilty when I cannot update stories in a timely manner for everyone. Depending on the stories I'm working on, if they're really different from each other, I have trouble shifting gears from one to another and it causes major delays. I'm a reader too and it drives me crazy. So there will probably be a month's delay between the ending of the current stories and the posting of any new stories. Well that's it for now people. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, no matter what you're celebrating! "There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness." -Friedrich Neitzsche 06/04/06 - Wow. It's been awhile. Hi there! A lot has been typed and almost as much has been posted. I've posted everything I mentioned in my previous update with the exception of the 2 Inuyasha fics. I gave up on Not So Different but Brothers has become my obsession and I refuse to post it until it's PERFECT. I'm still working on follow-ups to my two existing Inuyasha threads and will hopefully start posting one of them in the next few months. Although I wouldn't be surprised if everyone has forgotten them. I hate to admit it, but my manga addiction has gotten so bad that I've had to make a choice: Cut back on my reading or take a part time job to cover the massive expense. The good news is that the bookstore I frequent for my many many many purchases has recruited me and I will hopefully be working there part time in the near future. My newest recommendations are Let Dai, Shout Out Loud, Menkui, Soul to Seoul, Category Freaks, Gorgeous Carat and Kami Kaze. You didn't really think I'd cut back, did you! I would just like to state for the record that I worship Befanini and I think all of you should too. Go. Read. Bow down. I'm having an addition put on my house this summer (rumor has it anyway) and then there are the concerts (Ben Folds, Reel Big Fish, Guster (Sorry Bonnie! I feel like I'm cheating on you!) and Kenny Rogers) and the wine festivals, and the part time job... Did I mention my family is going on vacation without me? So my point is my stories might be interrupted. I know, I know, you're all heartbroken. Ok, so you're probably smiling, but at least I have warned you and therefore have cleared my conscious. "A wonderful thing about a book, in contrast to a computer screen, is that you can take it to bed with you." - Daniel J. Boorstein "Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscious: that is the ideal life." - Mark Twain 02/19/07 - Ok, so my cousin who no longer lies over the ocean, but somewhere in the continental US (Where are you this week? Texas? Utah? A Dakota?) checked in on my little account here to see if you guys were ready to pitch me in the fire yet and she admonishd me for not having updated my profile in, oh, forever. So here I am. Hi. So let's see...my house is in chaos and I'm in serious debt thanks to the addition but that hasn't stopped my writing or my reading. For anybody who has a sarcastic sense of humor and loves to read, I recommend picking up a Christopher Moore book. So far I've read Lamb and Blooksucking Fiends. You should too. Right, Bonnie? As far as my fan fiction is going, I've posted numerous new stories, mostly Gundam Wing, and sadly enough I have probably four other Gundam Wing stories I'm writing. I just can't leave those boys alone. It's become a sickess really. I actually have some original fiction waiting in the wings that some of you were kind enough to give me feedback on, but I just haven't found the courage to post it yet. I am truly grateful to all those who answered my "plea" and gave me constructive feedback. I believe it has helped me to create a better story. One is a story about a girl who falls in love with a demon and yes, it sounds simple and very "been there, done that", but it's funny and has its share of drama. And the other is actually a four-part history of a magic user that spans her life and that of her children. Nothing funny here. Straight up fantasy drama. I know I should post them just to get more feedback, but they've become my treasure and nobody wants to find out that their treasure is nothing but Fool's Gold. 11/15/07 - IT'S DONE!! The freakin' addition to my house is done and it's beautiful. Our pool table is up (thank you, Derek!), the handmade stained glass lights are hung (thank you, Uncle Al!), my photos are up, my mother-in-law's artwork is up, and my custom made cushion for my window seat is perfect (thank you, Kathy!). As of today I've managed to complete two of the Gundam stories and I don't forsee completing any more anytime soon. I'm on a HUGE anime kick (thank you, Netflix!) and I can't very well work on my stories while watching TV. Anyone interested in a violent, creative, ninja show? Watch Basilisk. There's a manga, but it doesn't do it justice. Catchy opening theme, with comedy and seriousness balanced nicely? Kyo Kara Maoh. Cool storytelling in modern or classic eras? Otogi Zoshi and Ayakashi: Tales of Horror. Awesome music, teen angst, and fashion? Paradise Kiss. And if anyone hasn't read Mizuki Hakase's The Demon Ororon and Demon Flowers yet, you should do so right away. One more quick note: Happy Birthday to me! Knowing I'm a scorpio makes perfect sense now, doesn't it? Anyway, I'm celebrating by going to a kick-ass SKA show featuring Streetlight Manifesto and Suburban Legends. EEeeeeeeeee!! 09/28/08 - Happy birthday to my little brother! I won't tell you how old he is because then I would have to admit to my own age. So I'm a bad, bad person, and I know this; but it isn't getting my chapters posted any faster. Work, school, soccer, karate, family, manga...all factors taking up my time. I did manage to finish the Naruto Irukashi story (YAY!!), and post 5 chapters to those poor Gundam stories I have out there languishing in the void of incomplete stories. BUT I WILL FINISH THEM. I will also not post any new story unless it's complete. That being said, I have a new Naruto story with Shikamaru and Sasuke I'll be debuting soon with 2 more Naruto themed stories already in the works; as well as 5 Gundam stories (3 of which are sequels). New loves: Anime - Beck and Tsubasa. Manga - Mail Order Ninja (the funniest thing I've read in a long time), Ral & Grad (there is no higher calling than protecting boobies), Trinity Blood (looking for more than what the anime offered), Vassalord (my guilty pleasure) Oh! And if you haven't already, DO NOT read the manga called Trash. Volume 1 was put out by TokyoPop ages ago and volume 2 is nowhere in sight. The tragedy is the book is really good. So save yourself the heartache. Yaoi - Kiss All The Boys, Love Pistols, Dog Style I will leave you with a great quote from The Big Hit which I watched again tonight: "Baby, you look so good I want to pour milk all over you and make you a part of my complete breakfast." Fan-freakin'-tastic! 05/21/09 - It's hockey playoff season, yay! My team lost, booo! May I just say how AWESOME the Funimation channel and my DVR are? Hehehehe... Thanks to these new toys I've been recording Buso Renkin, Aquarion, Black Blood Brothers, Solty Rei, Bleach, and Ouran Host Club (guilty pleasure). I have something ridiculous like 42 episodes of Bleach on my DVR and I won't be able to delete any until the next box set comes out in July. I was recording xxxholic but I found I enjoy reading Watanuki's character as opposed to actually hearing his ranting. Yikes... I've started Glass Fleet (yay Netflix!) and I just love the designs: the culture, clothing, and odd mix of technolgy is fascinating. I think this time around I'm going to recommend the following manga: Silver Diamond, Dogs: Prelude, and S (novel series). So I just posted 4 new chapters and reposted 3 chapters to A Part of You due to added scenes from my many many edits. I would say every story I have posted has been altered at least twice since its original post date. Checkmate has a wholly different ending and I''ve been playing with a sequel. But I am sticking to my previous promise: I will not post a new story unless it is 100 complete. Lastly, I leave you with the sage advice of Lorelai Gilmore: "Honey, someday when you're a little older you will be introduced to something that is extremely seductive but fickle. A fair-weather friend who seems benign but packs a wallop like a donkey kick, and that is the Long Island Iced Tea. The Long Island Iced Tea makes you do things that you normally wouldn't do, like lifting your skirt in public or calling someone you normally wouldn't call at really weird times." |
