![]() Author has written 4 stories for Ranma. If life begins at 40, I've lived a few years already! I wrote Guest Ki and Ki Cutters a while back but it took my better half some time to convince me to present it to you. A third set called Master Ki has been in hiatus but has recently been resumed. I like Japanese Manga and Anime because the characters are allowed to grow and develop. American television in particular and comic books tend to shy away from that, afraid they'll change something that attracted their audience in the first place. The one exception to this rule - soap operas - are usually so badly written that the actors have one heck of a time salvaging anything from them. I'm an old Trekkie and Star Wars fan and truly enjoyed the recent release of the movie version of Lord of the Rings. I'm a natural speed reader - I can rip through a 250 page paperback in 45 minutes. I have acquired over the years, a large library including science fiction, fantasy, historical romance, history, politics, science and religion. I'm an unrepentant Ranma/Akane fan,but I have no quarrel with writers who present a different outcome, provided they stick to the characterization. (Two people with their personalities really would have slim chances under the circumstances in manga or anime) I despise however, the idea of Akane the brutal, obsessive maniac. The story better be able to walk on water and win a Pulitzer to keep my attention with that strike against it in my opinion. I'm an artist, writer, singer, programmer, equestrian, and parent, with the last being my most satisfying responsibilty. Oh... And 'One more thing...' WACK!! My wife is my proofreader. While I've gotten pretty decent over the years, she still reads my stories before they go out on fanfiction.net and gives me hell if I screw up. To think it started some thirty years ago, when she sat down beside me on the school bus and started reading over my shoulder! BTW, if anyone is interested, she might be willing to proof for you as well. She HATES bad grammer, poor word choices and incorrect spelling (shiver) send to ws_connolly@. Put 'Beta-reader Requested in the memo line. FYI: The Main stories should be read in this order: Guest Ki, Ki Cutters, and coming next year, Master Ki. The ring of Ki Stories generally are 'related' stand alones. If they require backstory to make sense (other than cannon sources) I'll note or refer to the story involved. 01/10/10: Sorry for the long delay. I have not updated for a while due to work and time constraints. That may change, as Work is past tense due to the economy. I have not dropped my stories, I just haven't had time to properly do any more with them. We'll see what the future may hold. Also, please note, I have updated my email address. I am also interested in Naruto and may consider either a pure Naruto or Naruto/Ranma crossover in the near future. Anything to get the juices cooking again. In the Naruto genre, I prefer Naruto/Hinata, though I don't object to any pairing shown. Sakura just seems like a sister, though, which may say more about my sisters than it does about Naruto. Ja Ne! 01/22/11: Thought I'd put these ideas down somewhere that people might enjoy and/or boggle at them. Maybe someone could do an amusing one-shot because my time may not permit me to ever touch these ideas: 1. Legend of Zelda, done with Warner Bros. Characters: Sylvester as adult Link, Sonny (his son in many cartoons) as young Link, Granny as the Great Fairy with Tweety as the little bottle-fairies with typical interaction, there. Daffy as Navi, Foghorn Leghorn as the Great Owl (never shuts up, never gets to the point until Syl has been annoyed to the point of driving him off with rocks), Taz the Tasmanian Devil would be the Gorons - Except they spin, not roll) The Moblins would be played by Mark Anthony (Bull Dog), Yosemite Sam is the main bad guy, Gannon. Zelda/Sheik could be Bugs, in drag. Lola would be good as Malon (and or the Gerudoes). Link's childhood friend Saria could be the cat from Pepe' Le Peu flicks. Leader of the Zora could be that singing frog. The Lon Lon Ranch is a Kangaroo Ranch, so you can guess what Links mount is. Other villains could include Wiley Coyote, Elmer Fudd (the Stalphos) Witch Hazel would be Twin Rova, the Hair Monster etc.. Porky Pig as the stuttering Sage of Light. It still needs more definition, yet, somehow fits so well... 2. Holmes on Homes as done by the Rookie Nine of Naruto. Naruto as Mike Holmes, the rest as his work crew. It would definitely be a parody, but if Mike Holmes knew Kage Bunshin, it would explain how he gets things done so quickly. Naruto: I think you need a door there! Rasengan!!" Shikamaru: "Naruto, I think that was a support wall." Naruto: "Huh?" Hinata: Ummm... That was... was a support wall, N-Nartuto-kun..." Naruto turns: "Kage Bunshin!" Dozens of Narutos are now supporting the house. "Get a beam!" Later, Naruto smiling, "See? Happy ending!" This would be a comedy where inspiration inspires disaster only to be spammed by ninjitsu and hard work. Houses will never be the same. And you would always wonder, in the back of your mind, if these guys are the contractors, Holmes cleans up after. I know this indicates my impending institutionalization, but... More to come. |
