When Watson attempts to enlist in the Great War, a series of misunderstandings ensue, driving the detective and his doctor apart. But is the chasm between them really irreparable? An epistolary fic set after the events of 'His Last Bow'.

"What is it?" he enquired at last. "For heaven's sake, my dear fellow. It is clearly an ashtray." "It has a woman stuck to it." It is 1881, and Holmes and Watson attempt to grow used to each other's foibles.

Ficlit, based on "The Secret of Sherlock Holmes" play (major spoilers for it!), written for the Turn Left challenge at the Watson's Woes comm on LJ. In 1881, Sherlock Holmes healed a broken man. In 1891, he broke him again. Three years later, he must decide whether or not to heal him once more, or break him for the final time.

Ficlit, based on the Granada version of "The Devil's Foot." For someone gifted with extraordinary powers of observation, it had taken a very long time for Holmes to register that he had not been the only one affected by his foolish experiment. This does not sit well with him, for more reasons than one.

"Knowledge of literature, nil," had been the first of Watson's observations of the limits of his friend. Who could have guessed that this limit could have the potential to lead to disaster? Commissioned fic for the Fandomaid hurricane relief fic auction.

An unwelcome guest reminds Watson that Holmes is human. Meaningless fluff.

Holmes was left alone in the sitting room holding the empty syringe. Watson's last words ringing in his ears. "It really is quite simple, Holmes. Corpses have no need of friends."
