This was a very dear and comforting piece, even as it pierced me painfully. We all hate the thought of them growing old, but knowing that they have each other helps the ease the sting of it.

Wonderful story! I loved it throughout. I'm inclined to agree with youHolmes could not last long without Watson; some people are simply not meant to be parted.

I don't know what is canonical. But it surely felt like original. You write so well.

That was a really good story!

"How I hate to say it, how it cuts me to my very core to say the truth, but someone has to tell the man before he succeeds in killing himself. And thereby indirectly, killing a large part of me." I really liked the quote because it tells me how much Holmes would loose if Watson dies.

"And I had never regretted it for a moment, save on those lonely evenings when I would make some discovery and turn excitedly round to tell Watson – and he would not be there." This quote made me think of how much Holmes missed Watson. It made me feel sad.

That was a really awesome story and I loved it!
