![]() Author has written 8 stories for Danny Phantom, Harry Potter, Fairy Tail, and Dresden Files. HI there. An Act of Remembrance is on hiatus again! *sigh* Keep in mind that I still plan to finish it but it really needs some revisions. I'm going to be trying my hand at multi-tasking by working on my other stories at the same time as the revisions, so wish me luck! An Act of Remembrance revisions: Warning! Random rant ahead! As some of you have noticed, all of my stories have a single fandom in common. That commonality is Danny Phantom by Butch Heartman. Now I wouldn't call my self a… Er… Super Phan! Danny Phantom is first and foremost a kids/early teen cartoon. It is not perfect with plenty of cringe worthy moments, and not in the "ick" way either. So why? Why do I seem to only write Danny Phantom fanfiction? The most simple answer I could give is that, frankly, some of the best examples of fanfic writing I have managed to find fall into this fandom and I also actually do like the show. The more complex answer on the other hand might seem a bit odd so try to stick with me. Danny Phantom is a weirdly malleable fandom. It is so easy to change and shape it into different forms that some examples hardly resemble the source material, and some would argue better than the original. The cartoon was willing to take risks, go into the darker side of things, all that cool stuff. Danny Phantom also had a surprising amount of genres to pick from. Action, comedy, family, friendship, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, magic, adventure, angst. It had all of those and more, but what exactly does that mean? It means you can changes a lot with out changing it. Again let me explain. I guess I should compare it to gold, its soft and easy to mold, but you know it's gold despite the changes. Same basic idea, at least in my mind. One can write a complete AU and it would still technically be recognizable. I suppose a part of it is also the respect writers give the source materials as well. Alas, I believe I had digressed a bit. My point is, it's easy to make a potentially good story within the world of Danny Phantom. For me at least ideas come quick and easy, which is kind of obvious when you look at my story list and see all the things I'm working on right now… Frankly I love this fandom, and if I could be completely honest I probably like the fics better than the actual original cartoon. I find enjoyment reading these stories and they in turn bing me inspiration for my own. Who know? Perhaps I'll eventually write something that isn't Danny Phantom related. Well until then I'll just continue with what I've been doing. NEWS!: I've changed my update schedule! Instead of going through my stories in order, I'm going to work on what I have inspiration for. Why? Well, I've started doing original works, you can find them at . Obviously, this means I'm starting new projects, so that also means I'm kicking the current restriction I have for here. I.E. that "I'm not going to start new stories because I have too much on my plate" thing. So… Yeah, I'm going to start new pieces here as well. Oh right, I also have a AO3 account now too under the same name as here. |
