![]() Author has written 19 stories for Fairy Tales, Devil May Cry, and Supernatural. Feel free to skip this little rant if you wish, the rest of these notes regard me or story updates. Jimli :) I saw that the creator behind DmC said that classic Dante wasn't cool anymore, wasn't relevant to fans today. I disagree. We connect and continue to connect with Dante, Vergil, Nero, Lady, Trish, Lucia, Sparda, Eva, etc.., because we feel them, we find the places inside that each of those characters represent, and they give those places faces and voices. If they had truly become irrelevant, we wouldn't still love the games, the rest of the media, and the characters themselves. We have not outgrown them. As far as his argument about 'uncool', that is an unfair label and judgement. Cool is always what you perceive it to be. I propose that he felt the need to change the characters and story, not because they needed a fresh perspective, but because he himself did not connect with them. Which, on the surface is fine. If you don't connect with someone or something, it isn't a crime. But taking something and warping it completely away from its origin and meaning in the name of 'refresh' or 'cool' is a crime, one against the hearts of those to whom it matters the most. These things are always so awkward for me. ;P. Name's Jimli. I've been perusing this site anonymously for a while, thought it might be a good idea to actually participate. I'm 39, female, live in the U.S., Missouri, specifically. I'm a gamer, an avid reader, I dabble in art of all sorts, and I'm a music lover. I don't watch a lot of TV anymore, but I was quite religious about The Walking Dead until season 9, when I lost access to satellite channels, I love Supernatural, though I am WAY behind on it, and I did watch Bleach every week, until I lost my satellite access per moving. I enjoy a lot of anime, and I could probably provide a list of those I've watched to someone upon request. I was a cashier for the Evil Empire, but I now find myself workin' for the man.;) Any questions or comments regarding myself or my works will be answered. For those who are interested, I have a deviantart account under GraceJamesLee, which is mainly filled with pictures of my jewelry so far. Here's the link: . You can find me at fictionpress, too, also under Jimli. For those who hadn't noticed, I love the Devil May Cry series. I've beaten the first four games at least once on normal. My goal is to finish my second playthrough on normal, then move on to hard. Unfortunately, no, I haven't played DMC 5 yet, although I do have it. My husband bought it for my birthday after it came out. No, I'm not particularly interested in DmC, see rant above. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. I have the vast majority of his books in nice hardcovers. I think that is still true. I am missing a few books here and there. I like the Drizzt books. And D&D in a generalized sort of way. I do not actually play D&D itself, as we don't really have anyone to play with, but I have enjoyed different video games and books, movies, etc. I adore The Legend of Zelda. In fact, I've beaten Ocarina of Time four or five times, 100% completion thrice. I've also beaten Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker. I love fairy tales. Originals, retellings, even cutesie watered-down versions like Disney's. I have a minor obsession with Disney princesses. Sue me. :P Studio Ghibli is the absolute bomb. 'Nuff said. I'm a history nut and a grammar Nazi, in English. I am learning German, and there my grammar is not great. I certainly understand the language better than I speak or write it. I like rock, alternative, grunge, j-rock, metal, but also classical, and a smattering of pop, rap, and electronica. I'm not fond of country/western, which is too bad, because where I live, that's more the norm. I love puzzles, riddles, and games of all sorts, and I am rather good at them, if I do say so. (And I do.) Math comes as easily to me as breathing. When I subbed for the math teachers, I usually did the worksheets. Nerdy, I know, but there was also the practical purpose of having the answers if my kids needed them. Yeah, I know. Nerdy. Admittedly, I have forgotten much of what I used to understand in higher math. Unfortunately my life did not have much practical use for it. :( To anyone and everyone who's reviewed, favorited, or just read my stories, thank you! It gives me warm-fuzzies to know I can entertain someone with my writing. :) Over four years ago, I got married to a wonderful man. Love finds you in strange places, in strange ways, through strange venues. The hard part can be seeing it, taking ahold of it. I owe quite the debt of gratitude to the internet, and this site. And, strangely enough, the desperation that makes us reach out to others in this odd world of anonymity. A heartfelt shout-out to my wonderful husband, Liam, who is always completely there for me. Always. :) Another to my supportive best friend, Rose, without whom, I wouldn't have any of these wonderful stories posted here, many happy memories, or my husband. And I would still have numerous issues and insecurities I am not sorry to be without. She has been my voice of reason through many troubled waters. I have but two regrets with my relationship to her: that I did not make her acquaintance sooner in my life, and that geographical distance keeps us apart. :) If you bothered to read this, thank you. I like preserving a level of anonymity, of privacy, but I am always glad to give a piece of myself to someone else, if they want it. 3 As Always, Jimli |
