Yay! It is always rather nice to see the fairy tale heroine with some sense, or at least a bit, and that Prince is a jerk.
Actually, you are a jerk too, but I mean that in the nicest way possible. Let me explain. I had quite a reaction to this line "One with beauty such as yours can only be a princess,", actually it was such a violent reaction ( okay, violent is not the best word, it was a more peeved reaction like, "Stupid prince, what do you know?") that I decided to write a short about it, and thoughts about this particular short have been running through my mind because I am so pleased with the idea that I can't focus on much else, which is a problem because midterms are mean. Haha, so I thank you for the bit of inspiration, I just wish my brain would choose better times to be inspired!

Wonderful story.
It was refreshing that the princess rejected the less than charming prince.

I like it, although I am very curious where the princess went instead. Perhaps she can find her happily ever after yet.

Also your motivation for writing this story is exactly how I felt when I first read that fairy tale! It's kind of a sad ending, but he deserved it really.

I'm not familiar with the fairy tale it is based on, but I loved the driving forces behind this piece. It's so different from the usual fairy tale, where so often, a glimpse of simple goodness or a foray into the world of royalty is enough to change hearts and lives. Here, the prince is blind to the truth, and the girl realizes that her fairy tale dream may not be found in the prince she longed to meet.
