I love all flavors of SF and F. I used to play all sorts of video games until the kiddo came along; now I have to be more selective. So I like the big tent pole RPGs (Mass Effect, Dragon Age, KOTOR, Skyrim).

It wasn't until I played Mass Effect 3 and was so upset with the story (both the ending and my Love Interest's unchangeable death) that I started going online to look for answers. That's when I discovered fanfiction and realized other people had some fascinating interpretations of story events. And that's what triggered my initial story and thought of "I can do this!"

I used to write when I was a teenager, then went to engineering school, where they sort of beat the creativity out of you. It took a while, but I've remembered how much fun it is to craft an interesting story. I like my stories to be as realistic as possible in the confines of the universe where they're set, and each character has their own history and motivation for what they do. I love writing, since it gives me a chance to live and interact with my favorite characters again.
