Welcome to my Fanfic page!

I’m a 30 something year-old professional photographer and recently discovered my love for fanfiction. I feel like I’m extremely late to the party; I have found that the writers of my fandoms that I am currently interested in have move on to other fandoms (completely understandable) but it still makes me sad that they are no longer contributing to the fandom. I certainty understand, as I have a love/hate relationship with one of my fandoms and could only image my levels of frustration if I were currently writing in the fandom.

I don’t fancy myself a writer. I do like to put my favorite pairings in certain situations and settings and imagine how they would react. I am a notorious reader of fanfiction and visit several sites devoted to a particular fandom to find the best fanfiction I can. I love intelligent writing. I love writers who are able to seamless incorporate canon into their writing, especially when canon is cruel and unforgiving to a particular ship. I enjoy the slow build up. I believe a character should have to work for the “I love yous” or “the kiss”. There are so many other ways to express love and I love writers that express this in their writings. I am pretty obsessive about my ships; I ship hard. I don’t particular like seeing my ships with other people (unless it part of canon or necessary to move the ship forward).

I do like to jot down ideas and drabbles and will share them as I see fit. If I ever get up the courage to work on a multi-chapter piece, I promise to have at least 80 percent of the work finish before I post one chapter. I have fell victim to getting caught up in WIPs and felt very disappointed when the author abandon the story. I understand that life happens, inspiration fades and do not fault writers who abandon their stories. I have an unhealthy obsession with parentheses and will use them liberally in my writing.

My Fandoms

iCarly

I have the ultimate love/hate relationship with this fandom. iCarly introduced me to the world of fanfiction and shipping. I was a fan of the show, before I became a shipper in the fandom. I could appreciate the show for what it was and for what it was not. I understood the show’s purpose was to entrain and not to get any particular couple together. I ship Seddie, but hate what the show did with their relationship. However, I am grateful for the Seddie arc because I was able to see my ship on screen, which usually is not the case in most fandoms. Right now, anything I write would be in this fandom and set after the series final.

Harry Potter

I was 15 when the first novel was release; I was a senior in high school when the first movie premiered. It was easy to fall in love with the fandom. I enjoyed escaping to the world J.K. Rowling created. After the third film, I lost interest in the fandom (turning 21, college, etcetera, etcetera) and didn’t get back into the fandom until around the release of the last film. I always thought that Harry and Hermione would be endgame (the hero always get the girls after all) but was pleasant surprise by the RonHermione paring. I officially ship this pairing, but have found it somewhat tolerable to read them with other people that make sense canon wise.

Lie To Me

Fox should be charged with murder for what they did to this show. I didn’t watch the show during its tenure on TV (thanks to Fox and their inability to commit to a timeslot) and found myself indulging in a marathon on Netflix. By season three (Canary Song) I was shipping CalandGillian (Callian). This show had the possibility to be my OTP and OTF (Tim Roth and Kelli Williams made it impossible to not ship the pairing).

Law and Order: Criminal Intent

Love this show! I was a fan of the show long before I became a fan of any pairing romantically. I didn’t become a shipper of B/A until after the (second) series final and that is due entirely to the story Hidden Love by Gidget89 (she writes Lie To Me) and saw this story in her list and made a mental note to check it out. Since discovering this story, I begin to look at the paring in a different light. I don’t know if I can say that B/A is my OTP (as I stated I was a fan of their partnership long before their romantic pairing) but I love them together, I prefer them together.

Law and Order: SVU

Confession…I did not did not watch this show. I am a huge fan of crime dramas, but the subject matter of this show was a little hard to take week in and week out. After exhausting myself on reading LOCI fanfiction I went looking for a new fandom. I picked a show (easy with it being in the same universe as LOCI); I picked a pairing (EO) then I sat myself down and watched 12 seasons worth of episodes. It is impossible not to ship EO when the actors so clearly ship the characters themselves. Unfortunately, all this happen after Christopher Meloni left the show, so I basically set myself up for heartbreak.
