Vampire murder mystery! The final chapter of Fear and Loathing has been sent to my beta and work on the sequel to Letters has resumed. I hope to start posting it soon. I've been very much inspired by all the recent interest in the story and it's definitely spurred me on! Okay, that's it. Nighty-night :-) Note dated 5/25/12: I apologize for being very slow to update my stories. Real life has been even more hectic than usual lately leaving me too tired at night to do much more than sleep. I promise, all stories will be finished and I hope you'll stick with me. Thanks! Hi! Thank you for visiting my profile. In case you want to know a little about me, I'm a 30 something married mom of two little ones. I work from home full time while trying to raise my kids and start a small farm. In my spare time - an hour or two on the nights I don't collapse in bed exhausted - I feed my new found writing addiction in the hopes that maybe I can become a published author someday. A little about my stories: Fear and Loathing is the first - the first thing I have ever written at all - a very talented pre-reader and beta have been helping me make improvements to it - many thanks go to branchirps and SaritaDreaming for all the help they have given. I've been behind on updating this fic as I ended up overloading myself with contests and a charity fic. I am also attempting to change the way I write, going from verbal vomit to a type of outline so I can get the story under control. I am hopeful to get this fic back to regular updates once this last contest entry I am working on is complete. Chapter 8: Chorus frog video Irresponsible Angel - this is the only un-beta'd fic left of my stories so it has mistakes. The story is nice though and I hope to go back to it and fix it up. I've learned a lot since I wrote it and hope to add a lot more depth to it since I think the plot is really fun. Soldier - My first contest entry - the story did not win anything but it was fun to write and taught me quite a bit about planning to make a deadline - I am very lucky my pre-reader and beta were so understanding of my lack of organization! The contest was to write a fic based on a song and my song was Soldier by Destiny's Child. Come One, Come All - This is a completed one shot where Edward and Leah are the couple and Bella joins them for a night at the circus where Edward and Leah are performers. My plan is that whenever I am able to contribute a fic to a charity, it will feature these characters, each story a one shot but all together will be a longer WIP story as well. This story has a beautiful banner made by IllicitWriter. Please click this link to view. 11.22.11 - A second one shot featuring the same characters will be contributed to Fandom Against Juvenile Diabetes: http:/// Please donate! 2.21.12: My attempt at writing a second one shot for this series did not work out. I think Come One, Come All may end up going forward as a WIP once I'm done with Fear and Loathing and On A Pale Horse. A Native American Werewolf in Port Angeles - My entry in the Phases of Life contest hosted by Free Writers and Readers. This story won an honorable mention, tying with another story for the third place slot only a few votes shy of second place. This story features my first original character and a companion piece from his point of view will be forth coming. On a Pale Horse - Please - do not even click on the link to this story unless you are very comfortable with dark and disturbing themes. It was written for the Beyond the Pale contest which is all about pushing the envelope as far as what is socially unacceptable. Admittedly, I pushed pretty hard on this one. Nothing gratuitous, all part of the plot and there for a reason, still...beware...Will eventually be continued when Fear and Loathing is finished. Into Thine Arms - My entry for the Seasons of our Discontent contest. No win for me but it was a great exercise in writing extreme emotion. Considering I unofficially won for smallest number of reviews - I need to work on that a bit - lol - read it and help me out! Blood Will Out - This story ended up being my contribution for Fandom Against Juvenile Diabetes. Edward encounters Bella at a seminar on vampires. She makes him an offer he can't refuse that has lasting repercussions for him and his family. Letters - Edward and Bella exchange a series of letters while Edward is in prison. I've decided to stop putting author's notes in the middle of my WIP stories as I feel they interrupt the flow. Currently, all of my stories are pre-read by KatsFlowerGirls and beta'd by SaritaDreaming. If there is an exception, I'll be sure to note it in the story. You can also find me on the Free Writers and Readers website. A great community of readers and writers of all kinds of fan fiction and original stories as well. And one last note - the Twilight fandom is full of some amazing people. I am very grateful to every single person who has ever commented on a fic, replied to a twitter tweet, or helped me in any of the zillion other ways in which I have been helped. Thank you!!! I am ContentedTwiCow on Twitter and Contented TwiCow on Facebook - I'm not on either much but would love to hear from you! Thanks for reading! |
