For anyone who has never posted their own story it is hard to understate how wonderful it is to receive reviews. Whether they are positive comments, constructive criticism or even non-constructive criticism, having people read and engage with something I've written is awesome. Rizzoli & Isles was my introduction to fanfiction. After reading everything I could for a few months I discovered I had ideas too and started writing. I spend an inordinate amount of time reading and writing R&I fanfic, but reading and writing here has enriched my life more than I ever thought possible and for that I am grateful for the show. When I started reading fic on this site there were about 800 stories and now there are 5,700. I think that’s pretty spectacular. I’ve never encountered a show like this where not just lesbians but a huge number of straight people see the subtext. I think TNT and JTam are cowards. They were given the gift of co-stars who have such great chemistry together that the show gets a lot of publicity that it wouldn't otherwise get. But they refuse to acknowledge what would be an obvious and probably mandatory romantic pairing if one of them was a man. So that's why I'm here. And I'm happy to have read many stories far better than anything the show has offered. Also, Sasha Alexander is hot. |
