Hello,

I am Ckorkows, or CK if you prefer to shorthand it. I work for my church and have three dogs and a wonderful husband who is not creatively inclined. My hobbies include reading and writing, the shooting sports, racquetball, biking, and hiking, as well as other creative pursuits such as soft pastels and oil painting, though this year I have mostly focused on writing.

I love fanfiction. I love the friends I've made - the wonderful people who followed my stories or participate in my forum - and the feeling of creating good endings for characters who deserve them. For the past eight years of my life, Fanfiction.net has been an almost constant companion. However, my life goal since I was five years old has been to write and publish an original novel. The past couple of years I have been trying to juggle both fanfiction and my original writing and it's not working. I've come to the conclusion that I simply don't have the capacity to love my own characters and someone else's at the same time, and it's time to leave fanfiction behind. I have removed all my fics except for my Gift Fics and will not be adding any new works to my profile. This was a difficult step for me to make and I apologize to any of my followers who are upset by this, but it's time for me to move on. Maybe not permanently, but certainly for the foreseeable future.

With this said, I want you to know that I plan on remaining part of the fanfiction community. My forum, The Room, is active and thriving and is in no danger of being closed. You can always find me there. Additionally, I'm always available via PM to chat or answer questions or talk shop.
