My name is Sarah, but I am usually called, Say Say or some variation of it, ranging from Baby Say to simply, Say. I am completely Texan, like was born and raised and still currently reside in the beautiful state of Texas. Would never want to move away - partly because, do you know how long it would take to actually get out of the state? You can drive for eight hours and still be in the state, no lie. I have random knowledge about gas stations because of the work my Dad does and how often I'm actually in them - I've seen more of a gas station than anyone wants to know about. Like, for instance, some gas stations might sell religious what-have-yous on one wall. Turn around. It's almost a guarantee, you will see three things; condoms, pregnancy tests, and a drug testing kit. No word of a lie, that has happened to me.

I am horrifyingly claustrophobic, to the point of just watching scenes where a character is in a small space makes me wildly uncomfortable. It used to be a fear of crowds but it has steadily gotten worse as I've gotten older. I've come to realize that it's claustrophobia. I can tell you one fear I don't have - needles. I realized this when I got my industrial and I just giggled. When my brother-in-law noticed I have one, he was like, "isn't that like the most painful piercing?" and my sister looked at him and said, "She laughed." (sis was with me when I got it done. she convinced me to do it.) Anyway, on to the fandom stuff.

I ship a lot of ships, some of them not so common, some of them not so well liked, and some of them more popular than I expected. Shall I list them for you? Well, first of all, my first ship. Before I even really knew what a ship was, and the reason I have my best friend; Cody Jackson and Melissa Wu from that ridiculous (I realize, now) tween version of lost, Flight 29 Down. I don't particularly know what inspired this ship, I'm certain there was something, I just know I always wanted them together.

Then, there's a weirder ship that is a little eck for some but I ship it, partly because they're only related by marriage, and because if they didn't want us to ship it, they shouldn't have cast Michael Seater and Ashley Leggat. I think you know who I'm talking about. Derek Venturi and Casey McDonald from Life With Derek. Honestly? I think even the writers were like, "Yeah, so, Derek and Casey may fight but they will choose each other over any of their significant others." and I mean, c'mon, that's like saying, "They're not officially canon but they are totally canon."

Of course, there's my beloved ship. Look, Jackson and Melissa were my first, but this - this is the ship that got me through high school. I will always, always include Andrew and Monica from Touched by an Angel on this list. Like I said, I got through high school because of that show. I literally watched it religiously when I was a teenager and I adore it. Not to mention, John Dye and Roma Downey were/are, like, ridiculously attractive humans. John was unbelievably generous with his time and Roma is just beautiful. Also, I could listen to her speak, all day. I'm not sure what made me think it's okay to ship angels, I think it's because I can make the separation in my head that, no, they aren't real angels, they're fictional characters. And, when I first started writing them, I did try to write them as humans but it felt unnatural. I think as long as you understand that you are shipping fictional characters, not actual angels, then you're fine.

Where would I be if I didn't mention Luke Danes and Lorelai Gilmore? I was extremely annoyed at this show during the later seasons for taking this ship and literally wrecking it. I, personally, felt that they tried to make both characters far more toxic than they actually were and having her cheat with Christopher? That was basically a slap in the face, it was like saying, "Oh well, this was trash, anyway" and then actually pairing her with the trash character. Christopher was far more toxic (and whiny) than Luke and there was no potential for growth and healthy relationship development because he just could not see past his own issues. At least, with Luke, the potential was there. Ugh, anyway. The revival did very little to help.

The ship that I find most cathartic to write because they're very complex and I can get lost in them and not think about much else is, without doubt, John Reese and Jocelyn Carter from Person of Interest. I also love to write about Christopher Chance and Ilsa Pucci from Human Target, because you can almost make them. Chance could be anyone and Ilsa was still figuring out who she was supposed to be and that's my favorite thing about writing them. You had to really work to make it seem out of character.
