Update as of 3/21/13-- During the last FFNet site update, many of my doc files vanished. The only file that remains is an fic I'm working on that I started last week. There were at least 5 other files that were all well within the 90 day lifetime of docs. Hello all, and welcome to my cluttered bio. I'm a HUGE Dubstep/Techno fan, enjoy reading, and currently hope to be an astronomer. My biggest writing project right now is finishing the first chapter of Dreaming Big. I'm currently (still, even after about a year of almost constant reading) chewing my way through the Harry Potter fic-verse, and I run the Dreaming Big community (Heh, note the title), home to my favorite AU stories. I DON'T OWN ANY CHARACTERS OR STORIES NOT OF MY OWN MAKING, NOTABLY HARRY POTTER, SHUGO CHARA, AVENGERS OR PRETTY CURE. ANY OC CHARACTERS WHICH BEAR A RESEMBLANCE TO REAL LIFE ARE JUST COINCIDENCES. Regarding my newest story: Empty Portraits- EP was a spur of the moment writing adventure, and I'm really proud of it. It was based on the idea that the Ministry succeeded in making Harry hated by the general public and thus considered a Dark Lord after Voldemort was killed. However, they can't accuse him of ever using an Unforgivable, so he isn't given the Kiss, and is instead sent to Azkaban. While approaching the island, he was killed by a stray Blasting curse from expanding the island for all the incoming DEs. Of course, as the famous Boy-Who-Lived, he had a portrait painted a week before the trial was to occur. I based Portrait Harry off the thought that magical portraits hold the majority of the subject's memories (though they get sporadic as they get farther back. So in this case, Harry remembers most of his magical education memories.), memories of being a portrait, and hold the same general mindset as the subject's when they were painted. I will be expanding the story and giving it more depth (i.e., a bit of Harry's past, the painting of the portrait). If anyone has any suggestions for improvements, please feel free to drop a review on the story so I can work them in before I upload to HPFF! Concerning certain aspects of Dreaming Big- DB is my latest writing adventure. Current status: SLOWLY TYPING. I can't tell you enough how facing writer's block frustrates me. First it was Separate Paths, now this is facing the same fate. I've got a wiki going somewhere, but I'm not giving out the link as it contains much writing for later in the story. The cloak: Don't think of it as actual fire. Have you ever seen iridescent fabric? It's gorgeous! The colors shift as you move it and with different light. Of course in this story, amplify that look by ten and incorporate all the colors of flame instead of just two, and that's what I have in my mind. More fantastical properties of the Phoenix feather will come into play as the story progresses (It's not stuck as a cloak, that's all I'm saying!). Fire: The story will be divided into lots of little "arcs", each with its own theme and general plot, all working together for one major plot. This one, as you may be able to tell, has a lot of fire in it... both descriptively and action-wise. Blood Poppies: A magical version of red poppies, and usable in blood-related potions. Similar to the muggle symbolism of normal poppies, Blood Poppies are viewed as a symbol approaching battle, coming change and what once was. They'll pop up in the story every once in a while. Harry's Subtle Hint: Keep in mind, Harry isn't all that powerful and intelligent yet. He's just putting up a facade until that fake knowledge and maturity the others think he has actually exists. He's still adjusting to the whole new world deal. Five Days: Well, of course Albus didn't receive the letter five days previously based on Harry's original timeline! Both timelines run at two separate speeds, so while Albus may be of the opinion he received the letter five days previously, from Harry's perspective the letter could have arrived the moment he arrived there as well for all he knows. It's a bit tricky to explain... ask me to send me a message if you're still really curious about my version of dimensional travel. James vs. Dumbledore: They're both the same person, if that's what's bugging you. Didn't you read the AN of chapter 1? No? Well, when I say DH-complaint, I do mean that Harry does still have a moment inside his mind much like the King's Cross scene in the books where the reality of the situation comes into play. I just changed the characters around a bit... kinda? I don't want to give away everything away, but be aware that what's going on inside Harry's mind is a sub-plot that will play a role throughout this story and finish in the (eventual) sequel.
