![]() Author has written 4 stories for Hogan's Heroes, and Half-Life. I live in Virginia, although born in New Jersey. My hobbies include science, history, current events in the news and studying the german language. I go to First Assembly of God in Harrisonburg and am involved with a college age group. My favorite shows include Man vs Wild and Rubicon. Not much on television that I enjoy right now sadly. I like Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion, but hate wading through the refuse of Mary Sues, porn slash, poor spelling and bad grammar. I believe that this type of writing, especially among native English speakers is a reflection of society today. It is sad that so many young people today are so obsessed with such filth and write about it. Whatever happened to good and beautiful things? Why must we wallow in muck? Anyway, here are some little things that really bug me: Lembas - used all the time, but actually reserved for special cases and almost never for mortals Nicknames - no 'Dan or 'Ro or any of that. Elves did not use shortened versions of their names! Dropped into Middle Earth - How many times is this idea going to be written about? Don't people know what imagination is? Granted, there are a few exceptions, but they are far and few between. One thing I would love to see, some stories about the early days of Men before they arrived in Beleriand. If anyone knows of any let me know! |
