![]() Author has written 4 stories for Vampire Diaries, and Harry Potter. general: Living at 62ºN, Greyline is a self-acknowledged serial procrastinator. Having done very little with herself over the last twenty years, she prefers quiet days at home to large social engagements, and believes in conducting one’s own research over traditional educational methods. Gainfully...well, acceptably self-employed, Greyline’s main line of work involves a dichotomy of teardowns and tech-support, and painting oil portraits and quilting. When not talking about herself in a third-person fashion, Greyline endlessly and aimlessly browses the web looking for gold. She’s yet to find any, though she has discovered many cute kitty videos, how to not tie a fishbone knot, and a countless seriously disturbing fic-content warnings. Greyline also enjoys long walks in the countryside (and thus snowboots), fluffy animals, and eating gratuitous amounts of bacon. She dislikes lilac, camping and pistachios. reading preferences: With a love of fast-paced psychological drama, and a penchant for all things timetravel, Greyline often finds herself drawn to do-overs and mysteries. With an additional soft-spot for romances, she’s willing to read almost any pairing at least once as long as disbelief can be suspended and the plot is good. Adding in a twisted love for anti-heroes and main characters who refuse to roll down the good-road, Greyline’s read almost every dark, disturbing fic that the Harry Potter fandom’s produced, with them being a guilty pleasure even when the writing’s...of mildly questionable quality (she is also well aware her own offerings fall into this category (of questionable quality, not dark and/or disturbing... uh, not for the most part anyway)). This said, Greyline’s favourite fic remains Just a Random Tuesday—though some honourable mentions have to go to so many of the other authors who are largely responsible for her ability to form coherent sentences in English at all. Writers like (in alphabetical order, because it doesn't really seem fair to play favourites among favourites) Athey, EmpyrealFantasy, Excentrykemuse (uh...prior to the purge, naturally), faithwood, nonjon, RainingInk, Rorschach's Blot, Thanfiction and so many others (but, seeing as this list's off the top of her head and she's bad at remembering names, it's best to quit while ahead). It is because of writers like this that she has learnt a genuinely useful language that isn't characterised by so many glottals it sounds like you might get hacked on, nor is host to near-incomprehensible vowels...and, you know, doesn't make any non-native listener's ears bleed upon hearing it. Also bearing a certain fondness for the fandoms of Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Wicked Lovely, and reasonable disgust at the lack of Fringe and Abhorsen-related fanfic in the world, Greyline’s read (probably) billions of words over the years without posting anything... Until the other day, anyway...because she needed somewhere to dump her drunken junk-fic. She is considering searching her ancient external hard drive to see if there are any other dusty old bunnies knocking about on it, ones which hopefully wouldn't pollute this site too much should they actually be posted. It's possible she might get around to this task tomorrow... In the end though, she's far more likely to just eat cereal. current mood — blarg, I am dead | |||||||
