Hello,

I'm Haruko. I joined Fanfiction due to a great anime called Darker than Black, that just left me wanting more. I enjoy writing for Darker than Black with Misaki and Hei (Li), when Misaki does not know whom BK-201 is. My story called 'A Heart is not Black' is a fun story reflecting around Misaki and Li/BK201 in which Misaki gets into a lot of trouble and shows how the relationship between the two could develop.

I'm new at writing, which doesn’t come naturally to me because of a learning disorder. I am looking to help improve my grammar so constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated. Just please be kind.

My top stories: Wonder what you should read first? :)

A Heart is not Black is one of my first fan fictions (please keep in mind when reading it, I wrote and completed it before S2 aired, so it's not an alternate universe to me). In fact, it is one of the first times I've felt like writing (DTB just makes me do crazy things). If you're not sure what story to start with, this is the one. The one I'm most proud of and happy it was liked by so many. It's very long, but I needed to make the development of Misaki's and Li's characters believable and I hope I accomplished that. A couple of my short stories were written before S2 aired too.

A Wish Fulfilled I am very proud of too. That is one story that I wrote that naturally flowed right out of me. I guess a lot of pent up energy of comments of non Hei-Misaki shippers who do not know the main reason why we all ship them. The Chase! This is the result of it.

Host Club seems to be the most talked about even outside . I had a fun time writing this one and I'm happy everyone enjoys it. The idea came from just wanting Hei to work a job at a host club while Misaki visited, and everything else came into place as I was writing it. Not related to the Host Club Anime at all. Never seen it before, then someone had me watch one episode and I did not like it.

Hei-Li/Misaki rules!! I love the mystery, thrill, excitement, tension and suspense their relationship could offer. I love the idea of the love between a human and contractor. The thought of how opposite they are, but also at how close in personalities they are (Their eating habits, stubborn personalities neither one of them would answer the others question, and choosing for Contractors and humans to live together). Even though it's obvious that Misaki has very strong feelings towards Li, I don't see Bones ever getting them together in the Anime, but that doesn't stop me from writing about them, because they are a lot of fun. CHASE SHIPPING FOR THE WIN!!!

Hei/Amber: I also like the idea of Hei and Amber, mainly because Amber is a Contractor, who is not supposed to act on emotions, but fell in love with Hei. How can you not fall in love with him? Plus, I think the first season and Ova's hint a lot toward a past relationship with them. You probably wont see any stories from me with them, only because my mind can't think of anything. Sakabatou77 has wrote an Awesome story for them called Past Disaster. You should check it out if you haven't.

Hei/Yin: Ask me after the first season aired, I never thought much of these two as more than brother and sister. That is because I thought Yin was only 14 or 15. Bones drew her to look very young. It wasn't until the beginning of the second season that I found out she was 17 in season one (which brings up an interesting question. Can Dolls age? Both July and Yin didn't grow any from season 1.) After watching the OVA, it is obvious she has feelings for Hei and Hei does for her, but I still don't feel it's sexual (Yin obviosly is like Amber and Misaki and shows higher feelings towards him, but I still see Hei as loving her like a sister and needing to protect her). And you won't see me reading or writing any fan fictions for them (except if you're a friend) mainly because I just do not find their relationship exciting enough for me.

DTB Character ages: Everyone always seems to think characters are older than they are, or younger than they are. Mainly people seem to think Misaki is middle aged and Hei is still a teen (which I do not get. Hei was a teen of about 17 during Heavens war that took place 5 years ago; and Misaki is always getting upset when someone called her middle aged). Yin is the only one that I was like, "Really! She's 17? She looks so young."

Also, when writing your own story, remember there is no moon in the DTB world. We tend to get caught up in writing the perfect scenery and forget the actual world we are writing about. Writing the moon in your story is an alternate universe, and if done on purpose, should be stated why in your AN.

DTB RECOMMENDATIONS: Stories you may think are not worth your time to read.

Generation New : I was a little skeptical about reading this story myself because of a certain someone; However, Saka does a great job of catching the feeling you get from watching DTB with new characters a visit from some older characters, and a new unknown mystery. He wanted to write this out as close to season one: meaning there is going to be two parts, and close to what happened in the episode. Sort of. He's trying to get the reader to feel like its DTB. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT!! YOU'LL THANK ME!!!

Changes to "A Heart is not Black. 3-6-14: I noticed after going through it, that I should have gone through it sooner. With as many favorites as it has, it deserves more of my attention. I've gone through all the chapters. Changes include: Fixed spelling mistakes (that I could catch or were pointed out to me), fixed comma usage, changed words and sentence restructuring. Scene changes: Misaki is not constantly falling on her butt. Hanging Man is hanging in u-shape, fight scene with Hei, Haurai , and Naoyasu in chapter 16 re-written. Last chapter re-written in a few areas. Extra line added to end.

Paradox Key and Host Club : Stories are complete (Kind of a spoiler, but the story has been out for awhile now) To those of you who love 'Host Club' and were sad to see it end, I apologize. I couldn't see how to continue it based on its name. However, even though it has a different feel and I don't consider it a continuation, you should read Paradox Key, because I use Host Club to tell part of the story, so it's like a continuation. I may include a bonus chapter (20), so share your thoughts with me. However, considering the amount of hits and lack of reviews in later chapters, I don't feel like working on it.

I'm trying to go back through some of my stories to clean the wording/sentence structures up a little and add scene breaks (thanks to FF making changes, they were deleted), so if something seems off while you're reading it, please let me know. I've gone through most. If you have read my stories within a couple years than you may not notice the changes. More than that, you may notice sentence rewording and changed words. If something is not right, let me know.

The Princess Misaki: Darker than black set to the movie, The Princess Bride. You all know who I have chosen for The Man in Black and the Princess. (Update: I really want to work on this one, but I'm lacking the concentration for it).
