Ever thought of writing an original work, preferably in the mystery/crime genre... I believe you will do rather well in that genre with a bit more practice. Though Romance would also give you a wonderful canvas to paint on.

You are only the second author I know who can write a romance that does not seem cliche or filled with all the bloody asinine tropes that people seem to think make up a relationship

I really like your stories since they really have well developed plot.
It's funny that you decided to be Hei's real name Tian. I also decided it to be Tian in my DTB story about Hei's and Bai's childhood after the Gates appeared. But then again Tian isn't that far fetched since it's sky in Chinese.
Now I'm off to read the next chapter.

As Bai fused with Hei for him to have Bai's contractor powers, but Hei is still a human. That's why Amber said Hei would be the only 'contractor' alive on Earth if the Syndicate managed to activate Saturn's Ring and turn off the gate; 'all dolls, contractors would melt to nothing'

Every time I read this I want to see Hei and his family see each other again more and more.

Great, this last bunch of chapters was such a rollercoaster and now I'm crying like a baby.

I'm a little further along by now, but I'm doubling back because I just love this line so much. And also that dream sequence from ch 1. (Amber! My girl, my love, my darling.) And Jiao-tu's internal narration in ch 2; the context and execution are obviously completely different, but it's hilarious and delightful to me how the river Nile runs in the family. :D
