Author has written 9 stories for Phantom of the Opera, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Mentalist, Watchmen, Doctor Who, and Sherlock. Once upon a time there was a young girl who loved to read and write fanfiction. She spent many happy years intermittently reading and posting on fanfiction.net, never actually finishing a multi-chapter story, but having a great time all the same. She used several different accounts through the years and changed pen names rather often. Sometime near the start of her college years she drifted away from the website that had been so formative in her early days as an aspiring writer. She simply didn't think she had time to update her stories and had been told that they were not a worthwhile pastime in any case. Eventually, however, she came to miss the feeling of writing in a carefree, enjoyable manner and, through the joys of Tumblr fandom, drifted back into fanfiction writing again. Now, nearly twenty years old and in the process of pursuing a creative writing major, she has decided to return to the website that started it all with some determination to use it regularly to flex her story telling muscles... Yes, that's right, I'm back at last! I'm not sure anyone on here remembers me from my past stints and incarnations, as it's been a rather ridiculously long time since I was active, but I am (hopefully) back to stay! My first order of business is going to be to organize my old stories. I will NOT be deleting or removing anything, but there will be things that will be labeled as ARCHIVED meaning I've put them to rest and they will not be updated. I also hope to include some little bit of final commentary on those stories. They are quite amusing to me and really impress upon me how far I've come and how far I've yet to go in my love affair with written language. The one exception to the "will not be updated" rule will be A Strange Sweet Song. That story has been with me for something like four or five years now and is a rather large part of my literary history as well as my own personal canon for the story of the Phantom. In short, it's my pet project, always has been, and I truly do intend to finish it someday. I've been working and reworking it for years and now I think I may finally be ready to commit myself to really working on it. What this means in terms of updating and posting is that I'll archive the version of the story that is currently on my profile and (soon!) post a reworked version of the first chapter. This will be, I think, the fourth total rewrite. I hope it turns out to be worth all the effort! Other things you can expect to see from me include more Doctor Who oneshots, a Doctor Who multi-chapter, a Labyrinth (as in the movie starring David Bowie in tights) multi-chapter, and various other snips and snaps as they come to me. I can't make any promises about the frequency of my updates, but I hope to make them fairly regular. I need to develop better writing habits if I want to have any hope of making a career out of this. I'm always open to messages, comments, and constructive criticism so feel free to send your thoughts my way! It feels good to be back. :) I remain, as always, Your Obedient Authoress, ~Ms. This (To read some of my original work, please visit my writing blog!) |
