Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter, Gargoyles, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, White Wolf, and ElfQuest. This is where you're supposed to say stuff about yourself. I've never been good at touting myself, but here goes nothing. I'm a 27 year old housewife and happy mother of two boys. I've been into the fanfic scene since I wrote my first fic at age 8, for some long-forgotten cartoon show that used to play on Saturday mornings. I'm a writer and worldbuilder, a tabletop gamer and a World of Warcraft addict. I'm 12k words into the first draft of a novel I hope to sell soon, and am working on a proposal for another. I'm a sucker for well-written fantasy and deeply appreciative of a well-told story. I belong to several online writing workshops and have for years. I cry at the drop of a hat for any scene in a story that touches me. I continue to read series that have become so mindlessly formulaic coughLKHcough because I can't help myself. All good things must come to an end, but I'm still going to miss the continuation of the Harry Potter universe. I prefer not to think of myself as a Fanfic Author In Denial, but I probably am. (I read that term in a fanfic by Laume just today and nearly died with laughter.) I want to entertain people with my stories, and I hope I succeed. I'm currently working on a ficlet called Harry Potter and the Twist of Fate. This is a story inspired from Intromit's Harry Potter and Fate's DebtIn Intromit's version of the tale, Harry receives a letter from himself telling him to get to know Ginny Weasley better. My story takes that concept and puts it a different way: Harry sends a message back to Dumbledore days after his parents' death, informing the Headmaster that Peter Pettigrew was the traitor, not Sirius Black. This has unforeseen effects on the timeline, of which the school and the Ministry will become gradually aware. -- ON HIATUS until I can rewrite the chapters I have up, to correct glaring continuity errors. Also taken away from indefinite hiatus is my Gargoyles: the Resurrection fanfiction, which is a story of the members of the Wyvern Clan-that-was. Some of them will return, not all of them will be friendly. But when told of their fate and faced with the decision of which side to choose -- the leader they remember, or the determined second-in-command they remember -- the repercussions of each choice will be widely felt by all denizens of the City of New York, winged and not alike. A Shadow the Length of a Lifetime is another AU Harry Potter fic I'm working on, in which Harry's accidental magic destroys half the neighbourhood of Privet Drive a few days before his first Hogwart's letter is due to arrive. It's my personal take on Slytherin!Harry, but I'm hoping to avoid many of the overdone cliches inherent in that subset of the fandom. Discussion for SLL can be found at darklordpotter (dot) net, in the forums, under "Work by Author". I appreciate all the story alerts you guys have given me; really warms my heart to see the story enjoyed. :) My updating schedule is a bit erratic, but I'm constantly planning chapters as I go and it takes me about a day to write each one, so here's hoping I don't keep you waiting too long. I love reviews, but I will never hold out updates in the hopes of getting more. I dislike seeing "Review and you'll get the next chapter faster!" so I have no intentions of saying that myself. Just a heads-up in that regard. :) |
